War on drugs has been a total failure! June 03, 2011 8:51 AM

June 2, 2011
Objective reached!!!
The Commission on Global Drug Policy has established that: The War on Drugs has failed miserably.
Surely, the thousands of signatures arrived in a few days to the Commission, will have further convinced which the world and the citizens are ripe for a new policy of controls and limit damage of drugs.
A policy no longer based on violence and prohibition, but on the legalization of soft drugs (particularly cannabis and its derivatives) and the decriminalization of consumption, the controlled administration of narcotic and of more harmful drugs.
The Global Commission formed by personalities of high moral value, including former United Nations President Kofi Annan, the Colombian president Cesar Gaviria, former chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve Paul Volcker, former U.S. Secretary of State George Shultz, Sir Richard Branson, the Peruvian Nobel Mario Vargas Llosa, the Mexican writer Carlos Fuentes, the humanist Richard Branson, the Oscar Judi Dench, etc..
The Commission proposes, to the World Leaders, regularization measures, to eliminate the power of criminal organizations, encouraging the testing of models of legalization, so as to reduce the power of criminal organizations and safeguard the health and safety of citizens.
The policies followed so far, have only filled our prisons, costing taxpayers millions of dollars, increasing the power of crime and making thousands of deaths.
Is necessary replace the criminalization and punishment of people using heavy drugs with a offer of medical treatment.
Encouraging the testing of models for the legalization of cannabis.
In synthesis, breaking taboos on discussion and reform.
