Religion, the Futility of Believing in Woo

Thousands of religions, thousands of gods. Which one of them is the correct god or gods. The answer is, none of them are true. Gods exist because humans desire them to be real. Without humans, there are no gods. We are the thoughts and words of the gods. If you need a god, just call him or her 'Woo.' Don't like 'Woo?' How about 'Sue' or 'Bob?' One name is as good as another.

This is appalling that a US charitable organization such as The Family uses the church and Jesus to influence legislation in a foreign country so as to bring death and imprisonment to homosexuals. They get their money from donations through other ministries and churches. They use this money to help pass legislation that calls for the death penalty of an individual if he or she is a homosexual. They are asking a foreign government to do to its people that which is unlawful in our country. This behavior by a religious organization should be unlawful.

I have long told people who ask what religion I am that I am a Heretic. I have read that the word in greek means "One who questions" and that suits me more than Atheist or agnostic. To me Atheist is one who says definnitively there is no god. Agnostics seem to say there is no way of knowing so why bother worrying about it.
I tend to lean more towards thinking that it is more important to question. Question what is right, what is true. To engage the universe in a constant dialogue and ask it why it is so multifacited, insane, chaotic, and wonderful. If there is a god he/she/it certainly has a wonderful sense of humor, just consider the platypus!

"I do not believe in the God of theology who rewards good and punishes evil. My God created laws that take care of that. His universe is not ruled by wishful thinking, but by immutable laws."--Albert Einstein

"The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by 'God' one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying... It does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity." ~Carl Sagan~

    Smack Them Christians Down!

According to the Christian Bible, god made one male and one female of all species in order to propagate the earth. Evolution has been found to show the story of procreation to be a fable.  Recently, it has been discovered that Comodo Dragons can reproduce asexually with no male to fertilize their eggs--a virgin birth.  How can this be possible if a god ordained his creation to procreate with opposite sexes in order to continue the species?  Isn't god perfect?

The story of Jesus is the result of the story of creation found in the book of genesis, Chapter 3.  If the story of the snake giving a little girl a magical fruit is false, then the story of god coming to earth to die on the cross is also false.  What god would sacrifice his life for the sake of a fable?  Only the Christian god.
