About Me Sub-Canadian ex-pat, radical gardener, powderhound!
I was conceived in Jamaica and raised in SoCali. Spent my twenties exploring the mountains, as a ski bum, climber and itinerant landscaper; my early 30's as a Wilderness Ranger and student.
Met my lover and life partner at 35 and moved onto her homestead. Been a homesteader with her for the past 13 years.

I am delighted with life and all that it has to offer! Especially skiing powder! Yehaw! And actually living an ecological lifestyle rather than merely talking about it!
Perhaps one of my greatest rewards has been helping raise my step-daughter and seeing how groovy she's turning out!

We live in a log cabin in the northern Rockies on a wild river surrounded by trees and wildlife. We cook and heat and heat our water with wood. It's a hell of a lot of work, but it's better than relying on the shitstem! Yeah mon. Fetch wood and carry water!
We regularly see deer, elk, moose, bald eagles and great blue herons to name a few.
We are blessed to be caretaking a wild patch of earth where beavers harvest huge cottonwoods to build their dams, where animals have their babies, where coyotes and wolves howl at night.
It's where the great bear still roams and make their dens, where we can produce or gather most of our nurishment and medicines from the land around us.
Where we are remote and removed from the chaos of this modern world, where we can walk off in any direction for weeks at a time and hardly see another human.
And, one of the best parts: we can literally ski right out the friggen door! Perdy dang cool, eh!

We are both stay-at-home artists and craftspeoples and love being creative. We have a huge garden that we eat from every day of the year. Anything extra we sell at farmers market and a local lodge dining room. We hike, bike or ski every day on a trail system that we created in the nearby state forest.

Last summer we built an outdoor earthen oven and set up a website. This summer we plan to expand our garden and begin raising chickens. Eventually we'd like to build a cob and log guest house, and set up a yoga yurt. But for now our guests either stay in our tipi, or camp out in the grass, or crash out on the futon or floor, or up in the studio loft. We are working towards setting up a kind of backpacker/biker hostle and are looking into getting woofers to come help us get this all going. There are a lot of trails heading off from here into the back country, and this is a perfect spot for a sorta base camp. There's a lot of international travelers passing through the area to visit our world-class mountains.

Needless to say, we love it here.
We love doing what we do! And we're making a difference in our own small way from our own remote corner of paradise. It's really fun being us!
Pictures soon come, mon. Chill.
