Birthday Jan 01
About Me Bill Williams was born with clubfeet and deaf in both ears at the Nootka Mission Hospital in Esperanza, BC. Early on, Bill was diagnosed with borderline retardation and was taken away to be fostered out. His last foster family, the Williams, raised him, but received a lot of abuse throughout his childhood.

At the age of 12, Bill was lucky enough to have his hearing restored and legs corrected and able to walk at 10 years old through a long series of painful operations. He said that they broke all of his bones in his feet and grafted in new bones in to make his feet straight. A pain that he doesn't wish on anyone to experience. He said he remembers this angel always coming into his room to hold him until he fell asleep, because of the pain. At the age of 13 Years, Bill was kicked out of the Williams. Social Service could not find another foster home for him, so he was put on independent living. Two weeks after Bill was on his own he said he went for a sunny Sunday afternoon walk and after walking for a while he decided to sit down. A van pulls up and stops to ask for direction, and Bill said he wasn't in the mood for talking so he just point to where the man needed to go. Bill said the man started to drive off, but stopped and backed up. The man rolled down the window and asked if Bill could show him, and the man would drop him off wherever he needed to be dropped off. Bill agreed and got in, something he wished he didn't do. When the man got to where he said he would drop him off, the man kept driving. Bill said he became frantic, and wondered what the man was doing. The man drove up the mountain and stopped and then looked at Bill and then took out a big knife and said to Bill to undo his pants. The man said it again, but said if Bill didn't do as he was told that the man would kill him. So Bill said that he would rather live, and he obeyed the man. After the man was finished doing what he did, he started driving off, and he looked at Bill and told Bill to take all his clothes off. Bill was scared and the man put the knife against Bill's throat, and the man said more firmly, take off your clothes. So Bill took off all his clothes and then the man said get out. Bill said within himself that if he jumped out a moving vehicle, that he would for sure die. Bill did jump out of the moving van, and he got scraped, bruised up and cut up pretty badly because he was rolling on gravel road. One of the things Bill felt was a hand on the back of his head and on his legs, as if an angel was holding him. Bill said that the angel was holding his head firmly so Bill could read the licensed plate, which Bill could only read the last three digits. As Bill laid there in his own blood, a wolf came out from the bush and growled at him, the wolf could smell the blood. Bill became frightened as the wolf growled at him more. He said great the man didn't kill me, but he would be killed by the wolf. They stared at each other, and eventually the wolf left. A wise man said to Bill years later that Bill has control of the animals. Bill walked home and got help to phone the police, and he told him what happened and gave the last three digits of the licensed plate. The man was captured and was brought to court on charges of kidnapping, raping, almost killing Bill, and left for dead up in the mountains. When Bill was called up to the witness stand, he had to walk past the man, and the man said to him, "I didn't kill you up in the mountains, but I will kill you when I get out". The man got 5 years, and was let out in three years, and Bill said he lived his life in fear up until he said that enough was enough, up until he was 40 years old. That's when he met Sylvia in April 28, 2000, and he told Sylvia what had happened and that he needed to go back to where all this happened to him and to let it go and say to the man: "I let you go and I forgive you". It was then that Bill felt a spirit leave him and he was at peace ever since.

Bill worked hard in school and managed to graduate. His class mates were all proud of him, and gave him a fifteen minute standing ovation when the principle announced his name to receive his diploma. The ministry of education was their to witness this special child graduating, as well as most of his teachers from grade one to twelve, and specialist and doctors were at the graduation ceremony.

After Bill quit drinking and drugs, he started a ministry for street people which he still does to this day, and he's a driver for his First Nations community of which one day he will be their next chief. Bill is president of International United Native Nation 510, he advocates for people in whatever capacity they need him to. Especially advocates for those that have their children taken away or about to be taken away by social service.

Bill struggled for years with an alcohol addiction, but realized that the way to move forward was through the act of forgiveness and letting go. As of today he has 32 years of sobriety. One of Bill's many talents is that he also started a film company: BGW FILM STUDIOS. Bill is working on a documentary on the Indigenous Success Stories, where he will be documenting those that have their own business, teachers, and other profession, & students going onto college & university.

Political Leaning Indifferent
Wild Fact About Me like making people laugh or putting a smile on their face, because people seem to be too serious .
My Philosophy If you don't ask, you won't know; living by example; if I am in group discussion and they wait for someone to respond, I am usually the first to respond to get the ball rolling. If you don't do it, who will.
What Gives Me Hope The people of the world, to step up to the plate and see how people have helped others in times of need.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by I already started my own political party: "First Nation's Party of BC"; If I were leader, I would cut taxes back, because that is one of the biggest thing I hear from small and big businesses, and too many businesses closing and moving out of town.
What/who changed my life and why I was the only one that did things first to get things done. I lived on my own since I was 13 years old, and it's an experience I would not impose on any child. Living and learning every day. Day by day and sometimes one step at a time. This is why I became an advocate which I have been doing for 38 years.
Quotation It must be nice; You have options.
