I was a soldier once, then  I saw war.  I am now a fighter for Peace.  This battle will not be fought with guns and bombs, but with information, words, and deeds.  It will be fought in the hearts and minds of man; in every city of every state of every country in the world; in every school, town hall, office, dining room, and den.  We, the people, will counteract the propoganda machines of those who value corporate earnings more than human lives.  They cannot exist without us, but we can exist without them!!!

Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.
                                         --Hermann Goering

It is easier to lead men to combat, stirring up their passion, than to restrain them and direct them toward the patient labours of peace.

                                         --Andre Gide

Unconditional war can no longer lead to unconditional victory. It can no longer serve to settle disputes. It can no longer be of concern to great powers alone. For a nuclear disaster, spread by winds and waters and fear, could well engulf the great and the small, the rich and the poor, the committed and the uncommitted alike. Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind.
                                         --John F. Kennedy

More than an end to war, we want an end to the beginnings of all wars.

                                        --Franklin D. Roosevelt

Permanent good can never be the outcome of untruth and violence.

--Mohandas Ghandi

A peace that comes from fear and not from the heart is
the opposite of peace.

The problems that exist in the world today  cannot be solved by  the level of thinking  that created them.

                                        --Albert Einstein

Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding.

About Me I am an educated professional who is environmentally conscious and globally aware. I am a moderate who avoids extremes, yet champions many causes that are socially important. I value the responsible management of resources, especially human resources. How we take care of each other directly affects how we take care of our environment, and vice-versa. I feel that we are perhaps the most important resource of all from the standpoint that we can conserve or destroy all other resources. It is the disease of greed that poses the greatest threat to the world as we know it. I hope to see the day when our society, the human race, can move beyond the Neanderthal phylosophical mindset that personal gain and survival takes priority over concern for our fellow man. When we all have compassion and share a concern for each other, we will work together to sustain our natural resources for the benefit of all.

What/who changed my life and why Experiencing first-hand the policies of our government through a military deployment to Afghanistan changed my life forever. I have since made the transition from nationalist to patriotic social/peace activist.
