4 Unbelievable Things Said About Muslims After the California Shootings

More than a dozen people were killed in the mass shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., last week, and almost two dozen were injured as well. While the investigation continues and police try to discover what made Tashfeen Malik and her husband, Syed Rizwan Farook, engage in the deadliest shooting in years, whether the attack was supposed to be just one of many, and whether it was indeed an act of terrorism in support of Islamic militants, politicians and pundits are moving straight into the next phase of demonizing Muslims and clutching guns.

Here are four unbelievable things being said in the wake of the California shooting attack:

1) “Let’s arm everyone!” Christians are supposed to turn the other cheek, but not so much at Liberty University, where the son of religious right icon Jerry Falwell has urged all the schools students to carry their own guns for protection. “I always thought that if more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walk in and kill,” Jerry Falwell, Jr., told thousands of Liberty University students at the weekly convocation, according to CNN.com. “It just blows my mind when I see the President of the United States say that the answer to circumstances like this is more gun control,” he added. “Blows my mind” indeed.

2) “See? Women can be terrorists, too!” New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has used the shooting event to prove how he’s progressive when it comes to women – after all, he says, he was the only one to recognize women can be deadly terrorists, too. ďWe now know from San Bernardino, just a couple of days ago, that women are very capable of being involved in terrorist activity,Ē Christie told a forum of Americans for Peace Prosperity and Security in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Friday, according to ABC News. ďAnd the widow who comes over here from Syria, if aligned with ISIS or another organization, could create just as much death as any man given the weapons that are available now.Ē

3) “It’s time to rally around the second amendment!” There were two major national shooting sprees in just under a week, with a total of seventeen deaths. For some people, that would make you stop and think about just how easy it is to get a hold of weapons that can be obtained legally to commit massive amounts of physical damage in a matter of minutes. Not to presidential contender Ted Cruz, though. No, to him this is the perfect time to throw a rally in favor of the second amendment. “Ted Cruz offered an impassioned defense of gun rights in the wake of the San Bernardino terrorist attack on Friday, telling a crowd at an Iowa gun range, ‘you don’t stop bad guys by taking away our guns, you stop bad guys by using our guns,’” reports NBC.com. “Cruz criticized the media for focusing on gun control in the wake of the shootings, telling his supporters: ‘Folks in the media ask on behalf of Democrats, “isn’t it insensitive to do a Second Amendment rally after the shooting.” I really don’t view our job as being sensitive to Islamic terrorists.’”

4) “This is all caused by ‘political correctness.’” Then there is Donald Trump, who has never found a time where he didn’t think it was appropriate to attack all Muslims – and his favorite boogeyman, “political correctness.” “In an interview with CBSís ‘Face the Nation,’ Trump said Americans have been too politically correct with Muslims in America, arguing that people knew what the San Bernardino attackers were planning, but didnít want to report them for fear of profiling the individuals,” reports Bloomberg News. “‘If they thought there was something wrong with that group and they saw what was happening, and they didnít want to call the police because they didnít want to be profiling, I think thatís pretty bad,’ Trump said. ‘So everybody wants to be politically correct, and thatís part of the problem that we have with our country.’Ē

Everyone says stupid things sometimes.
Christians are to forgive attackers NOT be doormats for everyone to step on and wipe their feet, Even Jesus got angry. He turned over the tables of the money changers in the temple, then ran them out for defiling the temple.
Why are some so intent on appeasing the Muslims? America is so busy making sure that we don't offend them that we are offending everyone else.

Jenny,
Where are you getting the impression that I am condoning Republican activity? Why are you so content on silencing opposition?

Again, you interpret my comments to mean I think Obama is divine. Never said that. In fact, I said he has made the US responsible for countless deaths of innocents. But you may read the way you want. You have the same problem on the other end. You continue to condone Republican activity (or inactivity). I guess that makes YOU just as "closed minded". You must really like me to keep responding. I can't seem to shut you up!

Jenny,
The close minded comment had nothing to do with whether you agree or disagree with me. Rather, it was aimed at your infatuation with Obama. It appears that he can do no wrong in your book, and Republicans can do no right. When you can look at them objectively, then you can make that claim. That is close minded, and not "see clearly." Not sure what you think "my ilk" are, since I abhor killing.", and do not "salivate for blood." It cannot be one of the parties, as I support neither. Why do you make such assertions, just because we disagree?

You're right. My bad. As far as I'm concerned, they are about the same. With the exception of strikes being commanded by technology instead of people, the US is still killing innocent people in the attempt to kill one or two ISIS target,s. This is why it took so long for Obama to to strike period. Even back in 2013, he was reluctant to strike and Putin stepped in. There's a reason for it. He doesn't have the taste for blood that makes your ilk salivate. Sorry, I see clearly. Sad to know you think people who disagree with you and can actually converse with you is "closed minded" in your opinion. The same could be said of you. Try not to miss me too much!

Jenny,
Air strikes are completely different from ground troops. Perhaps you are the one in need of further research. You go praise Bush. After all, he is the one who started the air strikes, that you are currently praising Obama for following. So sad that you do not wish to continue. Some people are just close-minded, and refuse to see.

Just checked my sources- as of 21 hours ago, THE US LED AIR STRIKES ON SYRIA HIT THE CHIEF FINANCIAL PROVIDER OF ISIS. I think you should go do some research, Danny boy!

Dan- We are doing air strikes. As we speak. With France and Canada and most recently, England. Wake up. Your last comment has ended my conversation with you, as you just confirmed what I gathered about you. Go praise Bush and thank HIM for the predicament we are in right now, thanks to his "right" decision in Iraq. I KNOW what Obama said after the attacks, and I agree. I also know that ISIS is at war with the WORLD. WE don't have to lead the crusade- let somebody else do that for once. We (US) have done all we can to help the people being terrorized in the Middle East. It is up to THEM to take this on, not us. They had several opportunities to vote in Iran, Egypt and Syria- they continue to vote in the same types of people they ask us to help them fight against and we simply can't do it. MAYBE if we take back some of the money we give Israel every year and MAYBE if Israel would lead the brigade, we could join in as support. Other than that, we have no business there. We need to concentrate on what's going on HERE. And it starts with GUN CONTROL!
This conversation between us has ended. You may respond, but I am done.
