1.  Rosylene Carbone says  Dec 28, 2009 1:07 PM

In 2010 I am planning to have my books sorted out… If I can I will give the very old ones, that I haven’t touched for years to schools or libraries that need it. Also, I want to learn how to take care of flowers and plants to be able to look after my garden and preserve the little green area I am in charge of in the best way I can.

Happy New Year, everyone!

2.  DH F. says   Dec 28, 2009 12:34 PM

I resolve whole-heartedly to work harder to help inform the general public about the plight of our poor, in our post-welfare nation — America’s silent (ignored) crisis. Because of our welfare reform, the infant mortality rate among our poor now actually surpasses that of most Third World countries, and the life expectancy of our poor has been on a down-hill slide

And I resolve to continue doing what I can via volunteer work to help those in my own area.

3.  Carol H. says  Dec 28, 2009 10:42 AM

All I want to do is keep my HOUSE.

4.  Helena Dworeck says  Dec 28, 2009 9:35 AM

I want to read Bible through in one year. Also I have decided to get 5 kilos off in first six months and another 5 kilos in the last six months.

5.  B. M. says  Dec 28, 2009 8:11 AM

I want to live long enough to have my son as long as I’ve had my daughter…….They are 43 & 25.

And, to convince people all year round to plant trees for life for the rest of their life.

These are my ongoing day to day resolutions…………..

Plant & protect trees for life…..

6.  Jan Warren says  Dec 28, 2009 7:16 AM

I shall plant more fruit trees so that the squirrels and birds can feed on the fruits and make nests on the branches and of course the butterflies can be happy with the flowers.

There are so many resolutions I can make!! But I'll stick to this because I've never gone wrong with it: I ask, this year, for the strength to always do the next right thing...

I resolve to eat with sense and restraint, remembering the great numbers of children, women and men who do not have enough calories to sustain them....I will not waste by over-eating.

I resolve to be more respectful of my life and the life around me.

I resolve to be more cheerful as I have so little reason to be otherwise.

Here's an easy resolution for the New Year: If you're planning to bring a pet into your home, please adopt instead of buying. There are so many wonderful animals waiting at shelters for someone to save them. They are sweet, smart, happy, and just waiting to fill your life with joy. Please convince your friends to a...lso adopt. If everyone adopted and instead of purchasing animals, we could empty the shelters.

If you absolutely can't add another cat or dog, consider volunteering at your local shelter. If you just can't be around the animals, they no doubt have something you can do from home, such as computer work or thank you call/notess or washing laundry. Just ask. Or even write a letter to the editor encouraging people to adopt a homeless pet. Or ... See Moretake wet pet food to them. Please explore this. It would take so little of your time, but could mean the difference between life and death for a cat or dog. Thanks!

I want to be serious about putting in a garden this summer and get lawn in our backyard. I want to complete my at home training so that when my unemployment runs out I will have a job. I don't want to work in a cube farm anymore.

To continue spiritual practices, walking, community work (when we've a car working again!), support Shell to Sea ( ), Amnesty International actions, & Ray Hanania's peace project for Israel & Palestine......& de-clutter a bit. I should be thankful that I've no talent, or there wouldn't be time for everything! Keep smiling, folks!

In the new year I want to take good care of my body physically and spiritually. I want to make more time for drawing, painting, writing, and photography. I loved all these things in school and I have stopped doing them... I promise myself I will take more time to create art!

To further develop my spirituality, learn healthy humility, show each of my dogs and cats they are loved, help conserve wildlife especially wolves.
