Climate Carols Part Two: Oh Please Let It Snow & I’m Dreaming of a Cold Christmas

With two days left until Christmas, we’re in the peak of Christmas Caroling season. What better time to bring up the issue of global warming to your neighbors and friends? Yesterday I posted two climate carols, Rudolf the Dying Polar Bear & The 12 Days of Coal. Today I’ve got two more for you. The theme this time is nostalgia for cold winters. Remember those those crazy people in Seattle who went swimming in the middle of Winter? They were trying to show how weird it is that winters are getting warmer. While global climate change isn’t only about the winters getting warmer, it is an important aspect of it.

So for today’s climate carols we have Oh Please Let It Snow, a more desperate version of the classic song, and we have I’m Dreaming of a Cold Christmas. Check them out:

Oh Please Let It Snow

Oh the climate outside is frightful,
And this warming ain’t so delightful.
’cause winter is now a no-no
Oh Please Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

You say panels don’t work at night,
Oh, the day more than makes up for it.
‘Cause you can store it up tight
Or you can sell it to the grid

You say turbines are an ugly sight
Miles off the coast of your mansion
But would you rather pollute the sky
By burning some million-year-old crap?

Oh! Climate change isn’t even stoppin’,
And old weather records we are toppin’,
So we need to bring carbon down low,
So we can let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

I’m Dreaming of a Cold Christmas

I’m dreaming of a cold Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
before the caps disappeared
And we said goodbye to snow

I’m dreaming of a cold Christmas
With every Christmas card I send.
May our climate be on the mend
And may all your Christmases be cold

What do you say? Are you going to take the kids climate caroling? I do have a couple more songs that I could post. Let me know in the comments below if you want me to post them.

Thornton Wilder got it right down, in one of his plays...check it out, it was weirdly prophetic, and say what they might, I think he was right...it doesn't snow in the Philippines but global warming is our issue too.

The Global warming is a fact and we can´t avoid it if we dont stop using fossil fuel.

Okay your dreaming also, we experienced 64 degrees yesterday as on the 27th day of december usually Ohio gets hit with blizzard-weather, but not this year. It is perfectly normal though the way I see it. Cities that never experienced snow are getting some, Houston for example, 2 inches last week since 40 years ago . . . and Southern to mid California had snow ! It just goes to show mother nature is a comedian and does not mind mesing with global climate cause hey our ancestors acclamated, why can't we ?

Oh glease! "Global Warming" is NOT a religion, and the quicker you true believers come to realise that, the quicker you will see it for the scam that it is.

The world heats up. It cools down. It heats up again. It's been doing that for billions of years. It is arrogant in the extreme to suggest humans did it, when the host likely cause is astrophysical (or even geological).

Stop believing the simplistic dogma and start critically examining the science of both sides of the debate. Yes... there is a debate, and the only way we will really get to the truth of the whole thing is to listen to ALL sides of that debate, and critically examine every half baked hypothesis.

And I agree with Mark. There is no such thing as "normal" weather. In fact, from 1941 to 1974, the world was undergoing "global cooling". The same zealots who are now preaching the global warming line today were issuing dire warnings then that, because of evil humans, the world was about to enter another ice age. It was the end of the world as we knew it.

The saddest part of it all is governments around the world are now leaping onto the train... there's new "carbon taxes" to raise and they have an issue to distract us from the things that really matter.

(None of which is to say humans don't need to drastically change our ways. We've an abysmal track record when it comes to our environment, but using the lie of anthropomorthic global warming is not the right way to get us to change.)

There is no such thing a "normal" weather. Over half the country is having a white Christmas.
If I tried to take my children, one in college and one in HS, "climate caroling" they would think I had lost my mind. Especially when we just went through our coldest fall in nearly 50 years.
Lets don't waste our time and efforts on something as ridiculous as human-caused global warming. Especially when most of us are digging out of snowbanks.
