Congresswoman Chelsea Clinton?

With Secretary of State Hillary Clinton making it abundantly (and repeatedly) clear that she will not be running for president, the political speculation has turned to the next Clinton woman in line, as all pundits keep their eyes out for a potential Chelsea Clinton political campaign.

Sure, it’s way too early for the daughter of Bill and Hillary to head for the White House, but Congress?  That may be a different story.

Less than two weeks ago, Hillary admitted that her daughter might have “the public service bug,” but that she was unsure if Chelsea would be turning that into a campaign any time soon.

But now, sources are claiming that a New York congressional seat has already been picked out for the former First Daughter — the elder Clinton’s home district #18, a solidly Democratic area that would be an easy win for Chelsea.

There’s only one small problem with the plan.  No one appears to have asked current Democratic Congresswoman Nita Lowey if she really wants to retire yet.  Lowey says “no way.”  According to New York Daily News,  “Lowey spokesman Matthew Dennis told our Alison Gendar, ‘Congresswoman Lowey is 100% running for re-election in 2012. She is not retiring.’ One Democratic operative similarly told Gendar when asked about the Lowey/Clinton item, ‘News to me. They love Nita in Westchester.’”

Oops.  Well, I guess there’s always 2014.

I think she should go do some kind of project, and go for it when the time comes. :) Get her own credentials going rather than having the appearance of riding her parents' coat tails. I'm sure she knows what she's doing, but, it's for her own benefit.

Frances are you serious you are commenting to what? Did you not read the article above? It is not about hate but the question is what has she accomplished? I do understand she would have all the money needed for a backing to make a run for this seat if that is her intentions, at least that's what I've taken from this article correct me if I am wrong. That is my point blindly following and defending somebody whether truth or fiction so I ask you to read the article again. Your question should be to Robin where she might've heard this rumor if it is a rumor sounds like it came from her mother, and who would know better than Hillary.

To you tea party Clinton bashers; Did Chelsea Clinton say she is running for Congress? Did you hear her say that? I never heard her say that. Can you show me where to look to find that info? No, you can't...then please just stop criticizing her for no reason except you are mean. I don't know, and at this point, don't care. That is her business. If and when she should decide to run for any public office then you can start bashing her, and you will.

I find it curious that people here are slamming Clinton for having a passion for young girls, yet defending someone with the same passion and a filthy business. Guess it's OK for your nasty friends, but not for others.......typical...

I hate these dynastic families like the Gadaffis, the Bushes, the Kim il jongs, kennedys, and now the Clintons. Insanity really is genetic! As is parasiticism and nepotism. Power mad they are! Power mad!

I'm sure US citizens are ready for that one James. Actually I'd like to see us finish the job by getting rid of the Rothchild (London) FED. I think that could go something like a "nationalizing" of all FED banks by the US Treasury.

You know where this love of dynasties like the Kennedys, Bushes and Clintons has its roots, don't you? The USA still misses the Monarchy. Just ask the Queen nicely and I'm sure she'll let you be part of the Empire again.:)
