First Belarus ‘Gay’ Movie (Video)

A delightful movie about love is the first produced in Belarus to show a same-sex couple

Its producers say the aim is a simple one, saying that ‘love applies to all, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, age, race, nationality.’

There are two couples, with the gay couple being Vova Maruk and Nick Antipov. The director, cameraman and mastermind behind the video is Max Anatskaya with music by Alexander Maas.

Part of the filming of ‘Love is Equal’ took place during the Belarus summer at the Komsomolsk lake, with other parts in Drazdy. Several scenes were filmed in other locations within the boundaries and outside of the city of Minsk.

Gay people are persecuted by the state in Belarus. A couple of weeks ago, reports emerged of the Belarus KGB harassing local gay activists. Gay Pride in Minsk has been consistently shut down.

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenkо — who has been described as “Europe’s last dictator” — has mocked and abused homosexuals, including reportedly the gay German Foreign Minister.

Whatever. If one can't argue for, or against any "hot topic" without throwing around Biblical verses...............then one should keep their pie-holes clamped shut. The whole Bible reciting approach is only meaningful IF one believes in God. So argue the damned logisitics without muddying the waters with pointless Bible references.

It's a start. We need to put international pressure on Belarus and pressure on the US candidates for president.

Thanks for another example of how the pitiful human race is evolving in Belarus. Keep on moving forward Belarus!

Good for them! Sure, "cute gay movies" won't change laws by themselves, but they can change people's attitudes.

The international community has to take stronger steps against the brutal homophobia and violence against our LGBTQ people... they need to be kicked out of something or forbidden entrance somewhere or something. Cute gay movies aren't gonna cut it, you know.

Jesus gives us the only commandments that count:
Matthew 22:36-40
36: Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37: Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38: This is the first and great commandment.
39: And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40: On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
And finally:
Matthew 7:1
1: Judge not, that ye be not judged

So live in love and love all of the Lord’s children.

Again the debate turns to what the bible says. Well, let’s look at that:

First, the forbidding of the homosexuality comes from Leviticus - a document that is proven to have come from an ancient document that was the rules and regulations for priests. Hardly the word of the Lord. Besides, read the rest of Leviticus and you will find that most all people would be put to death for one reason or another.

Second, the bible states that we are all God's children - not just some.
Romans 8:16
16: The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

The bible states that the Lord loves all His children and that the Lord is love. Love does not discriminate.
Romans 11:31-32
31: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32: For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

Third, the new testament supersedes the old. Jesus states so in that he condemns the 'law’ of the old testament.
Galatians 3
11: But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith.
12: And the law is not of faith: but, the man that doeth them shall live in them.
13: Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law.

If nothing else I am glad for the movie to be shown to an audience that until now had no media support. Maybe one day we can all watch good movies and not care if the characters are straight, bi or gay. Maybe one day we judge love for what it is - a human ability to bond and show deepest affection. In my book - if you find love and it is mutual - you score!
