Gabby Giffords in New Photos: Looking Much Better

New photos of critically wounded Gabrielle Giffords appeared on her Facebook page Sunday morning, posted by her staff.  In the photos, taken May 17, she appears well and shows few outward signs of the grievous wounds she endured.

She will be leaving the hospital within a couple of weeks to begin outpatient treatment, according to her communications director.

Her chief of staff, Pia Carusone, cautioned that, though she looks wonderful, she still struggles with communication.  She told the Arizona Republic, “when it comes to a bigger and more complex thought that requires words, that’s where she’s had the trouble,” although her comprehension is “close to normal, if not normal.”

It's amazing she survived and is doing so well. (Don't bother reading the adjacent commenter.)

A still photo with a big smile plastered on her doesn't tell you much. She looks like a mannequin.

It's a shame some liberal nutjob shot her and killed an outstanding judge, but this isn't real news.
