Highlights From Madison’s Protest (VIDEO)

There were so many highlights from yesterday’s historic rally in Madison.  For starters, actor Tony Shalhoub rallied the massive crowd, declaring the birth of a new labor movement.

You can watch the video here:

Then was Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) whose own state is in the midst of a massive struggle over workers’ rights.  He addressed thousands at the “Speak Up For Workers’ Rights rally that took place right after the massive protest at the state Capitol.

You can watch Rep. Kucinich here:

Of course there was also the massive showing by Wisconsin farmers in support of their fellow Wisconsinites.

See the farmers here:

If there’s one common thread it is that Saturday’s protest, among the largest in this nation’s history, represents a turning point in the battle to take back this country from the corporate greed and Republican overreach that have dominated the interests since the landmark Citizens United decision.

This is truly just the beginning.

Wisconsin is only the tip of the iceberg; people are angry at the Republicans and their agenda all over the country. They may talk a lot and get the media (that's controlled by the super rich) but they don't walk the walk. They have taken from the bottom 85% of our citizens and given it to the top 15%. We must vote them out or recall them if we can. Enough is enough! or should I say enough has been way too much given to the top 15%.

What a great rally! Now we need signatures to get out those Republican Senators!

There is so much going on of an unbelievable nature now that I cannot believe one governor can create such havoc. Perhaps it will cause the pendulum to swing to sense.

Just was at a town hall meeting.

I am wondering what country this is. Walker (AGAIN!) manufactures a false fiscal emergency. Why? If he can starve the government agencies to the point they just can't do what they do, he'll have a rationale to privatize the whole state.

His actual numbers, especially if you use the "generally accepted accounting methods" he touts, not only doesn't SOLVE the deficit he projects, but slaps another $58.7 million on top of it, making it that much worse.

We saw projections of what the lost income for all the public workers will mean. In southeastern Wisconsin, $1 billion less spending, that will net us a loss of 9000 service and production jobs. This town has cuts to police and fire, and the bills make it illegal to raise revenue locally to make it up. But gas prices are up. They can't raise revenue to pay for gas for the patrol cars. No patrols, then?

I have to believe we'll get our rights back eventually, fix the damage of no recycling and freely polluting the largest source of freshwater in America, though my God, that will cost a fortune. But we'll never unbuild the factories Koch is building on out formerly protected wetlands. The poor and elderly who die because of this won't be brought back to life. If they can't get meds, or food, what do they do? When there aren't buses, so they can't hold a job, what then?

But heaven forbid the rich or corps(e) should pay even a penny more!

Walker is a soul-less bastard.

Sound Mind you're exactly right! They are the "puppets" of the ultra rich (Koch Bros, etc), Wall Street, Insurance & Drug Companies, & Republican Senators who's "you know what" they kiss. Well as soon as the aforementioned groups and people are done with them, and the individuals like the ones you mentioned have been used by these groups and persons to carry out the evil acts they want them to perform, they will all be tossed by the wayside...and then we'll hear them crying "oh, you were right all along". They'll see! Or maybe not?!?

I forgot to list Carol S in the Dumbest SOB's on the Planet along with Patricia S, John Coleman, Kevin S, John Hall, Ald Oro, Nh T, Carol Dreeszen. She might have already made it to the Top Ten!!

Never had much interest in watching "Monk" but now I'm a real fan.

Notice that Patricia doesn't have ANY concrete info, and you're right about her and FOX. She simply parrots everything they say and doesn't ever have an original idea. I hope you get rid of the cancer that's trying to ruin your state. All of us in the country, except for the evil few, are cheering for your success. God's speed Wisconsin.
