Mark Ruffalo Connects Keystone XL, Fracking & OWS [Video]

Think Occupy Wall Street is only about greedy bankers or tax loopholes? Think again.

Last week, actor Mark Ruffalo took “the people’s microphone” at Occupy Wall Street — not to promote his new movie, but to issue a powerful call to action. Watch as in under three minutes, Mark connects the dots between the Keystone XL, fracking, and the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Earlier this year, over 1,000 activists were arrested for their participation in the Keystone XL sit-in, a two week-long protest of the Keystone XL oil pipeline that took place outside the White House.

Now, is planning another massive Tar Sands Action in Washington, D.C. on November 6th.

Exactly one year before the election, we want to encircle the whole White House to ask President Obama to reject Keystone XL and live up to his promise to free us from the tyranny of oil. In doing so, we want to remind him of the power of the movement that he rode to the White House in 2008. This is bigger than any one person – President or no – and we will carry on, with or without him. We’ll be getting started at around 2 pm, and finishing up early evening. We’ll be carrying signs with Obama’s own words to show him we haven’t forgotten his promises.

So far, over 3,000 people have signed up to participate.

Just watched Mark and Josh Fox on MSNBC . I have seen Gasland and will see Gasland 2..What can we do in NH-can a petition be written against fracking and the Keystone Pipeline to be signed state-wide. Can talks be set up to explain this process and the harm it can do. Do people know that the EPA created a special agreement with Bush And Cheney so that no diclosure of chemicals used is required or how long they remain in the water supply...I recommend Gasland to everyone but you would be surprised at the number of people who haven't seen it.This is so serious and people need to be informed and get active. People Power can be impressive but we need to stand up and be heard in numbers. Thank you Mark and Josh and President Obama!!

Greed, Greed and more Greed. It is amazing how many ignorant people think that the keystone pipeline is the answer to our Oil Problems. They don't even know that it would pollute our country and not change a damn thing about gas prices. It's about rich corrupt scumbags. Way to go Mark

Brian F., you said it perfectly.....if Germany can do it, the whole world can do it.

The politicians had better start listening to the "99" that they are supposed to be representing. Somehow we seem to be aware that we need to take care of the earth, but they are missing that message. May NONE of them get reelected.

Wish I could be there to join in the protest. If not in person, then by my actions elsewhere, I will participate.

Of course this isn't just about greedy bankers. There is more to Wall Street than banks, greedy or otherwise. It is connected to business and the biggest business is the dirty energy business. And there isn't a person in Washington who isn't tied to it some how.
