“My Life as a Turkey” Follows Hatchlings Through Adulthood (VIDEO)

My Life as a Turkey, a PBS documentary that originally aired November 16, 2011, chronicles Joe Hutto and his truly exceptional experience supporting a group of turkey hatchlings from the moment they were left on his porch by a local farmer until they reached adulthood.

During the season when millions of innocent birds are killed for consumption in holiday celebrations, this is a touching look at a gang of turkeys who were fortunate enough to have a much more loving life. Below is the trailer. The full documentary is viewable here where you may also purchase it on DVD.

I saw the documentary and I thought it was good but he was getting a little odd toward the end not being around humans does that to you though. I liked the end when he was attacked my his own turkey it's not a pet it's a wild animal.

I live in a forested area north of Brisbane. The wild turkeys have loads of bushland around me but they prefer to annoy and destroy my garden. Why wont they stay in the bushland around me and leave me and my garden alone
