Robert Redford Endorses Upcoming Tar Sands Action [Video]

Fueled by the success of their two-week long sit in at the White House in September, Americans opposed to the controversial Keystone XL pipeline will once again gather on Pennsylvania Avenue to demand that the President honor his campaign promise to free their country from the tyranny of oil.

So far, President Obama has ignored that request, but on November 6th, thousands of people will join hands in a giant circle around the White House to signify their joint opposition to the Keystone XL and further subsidization of the Big Oil industry in America.

On Monday, actor and National Resources Defense Council board member Robert Redford released a video produced by NRDC and Tar Sands Action inviting people to come to the White House this coming Sunday to tell President Obama that the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline is not in the national interest.

All these million dollar actors and singers who don't know how to spent their millions should help the poor Americans to bail them out of debt, give them back their homes and donate to food banks and healthcare. People should boycott their movies and performances.

If the world needs Hollywood stars to help fight environmental causes then I would ask all the prominent stars to sign up today to help save us from our own government and it's decisions on what our lives will be now and for our children in the future. We should have referendums on what decisions the government is making on "our behalf", we cannot trust the politicians to make these decisions are they have been "bought out" by the huge corporations that actually run this country.
I would like to see how Hollywood can help us solve this ridiculous plan and many of the other plans that government has activated such as "fracturing for gas; environmental pollution of water (streams, rivers, lakes & oceans), air and the earth; personal identity profiling; control of media; bailing out private corporations, banks and Wall Street brokers.
If they were to join collectively, perhaps we as people might have a say in our future and the future of our planet........the cost would be measured only by words, not by dollars

Delores, you stated:

"what about the Green Party?"

unfortunately, the green party does not have the recognition..yet. or the support needed to defeat a republican ass clown or our seemingly, well-meaning spineless pres.

in a few more years, absolutely :) but it wont happen now and it isn't realistic at this point to believe a green party candidate can win and to vote for one would allow the possibility for a republican president. and quite frankly that scares the hell out of me.
