Roy Moore Hopes We Forget About Abuse Claims and Elect Him Again

Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore has a pretty spotty record.

During his first term as the state’s chief justice, Moore ordered that a stone monument of the Biblical Ten Commandments be erected in the rotunda of the judicial building. He turned a blind eye to the separation of church and state. And when a federal judge ordered him to remove the religious monument Moore refused.

The monument was finally removed when the federal court imposed hefty fines on Alabama for defying the order. And Moore was removed from office.

Despite this, the people of Alabama re-elected Moore as chief justice in a close election in 2012. In this term, he ordered all judges in the state to disregard any federal rulings that legalized same-sex marriage. (This was very illegal.) Due to this, Moore once again was tossed from the state Supreme Court.

That’s when he decided to run for Senate.

In a 2017 special election, he faced Democratic prosecutor Doug Jones. Despite Moore’s poor job record, he looked like the favorite until several women told heartbreaking stories that changed everything.

It was allegedly “common knowledge” in the community that Moore dated young girls in their teens when he was in his 30s, and he was apparently banned from a local mall for harassing young women and girls there.

Then, Leigh Corfman came forward and claimed Moore made sexual advances toward her when she was just 14 years old. Several other women also came out with similar allegations. This ended up being a major factor in Moore’s surprising loss to the Democrat Jones.

Now, Moore is thinking about taking another swing at the Senate. And it looks like he still has some friends who could help him get elected.

Supporters like E.W. Jackson have defended Moore’s alleged misconduct, favorably comparing Moore’s courtship of young girls to Joseph and Mary’s relationship in the Bible.

Moore himself has maintained that the whole thing was a left-wing sham to keep a Biblical man out of office. He never truly conceded the election and has spent his time after the vote sharing conspiracy theories about the election being stolen from him and even suing his accusers.

Voices from both sides of the aisle have spoken out against another Roy Moore bid, but he openly says he doesn’t care about what other people think.

“Should I qualify I’ll run for Senate in the state of Alabama, not Washington, D.C.,” Moore said in response to Republican opposition to his bid.

This is not a man who should be anywhere near power. He has failed in all his official positions, getting expelled from his office twice, and has a long line of people accusing him of sordid crimes. For the sake of our families, our laws and our country, Roy Moore must not serve in the United States Senate.

TAKE ACTION

Tell Roy Moore “no thanks” in his second quest to become a United States senator. We do not need an ultra-conservative who has been accused of serious sexual misconduct with children in office. Sign our petition to tell Roy Moore you will oppose his candidacy if he runs.

One would think a man kicked out of office twice for failing to honor the rule of law would have a chance to be elected to another office. If Leigh Corfman and the other women hadn't spoke up about Roy Moore he would have been elected the junior senator from Alabama. Senator Shelby saved the day by announcing that he would not vote for Roy Moore, but instead would do a write-in vote. Enough voters followed Shelby's lead and did the same thing.

After Alabama's latest abortion debacle nothing would surprise me, including electing this monster. As a woman I'd be afraid to merely drive through the state.

She doesn't want a medal I'm guessing. She wants cop outs like you to use your BRAIN instead of what you do here daily.
She does support health care for US citizens and you know that. Why does she HAVE to support everything YOU want brian . (OR the WAY you want it.) The ONLY person here without a free thinking brain is YOU. YOU are just a clone wannabe and I'll just bet Mr. Sanders would cringe if he read some of your posts.

Rhoberta E Most people in the country support Medicare for all as proposed by Bernie Sanders. At least 45,000 people die each year because we don't have Medicare for all and Nancy Pelosi refuses to support it. Nancy Pelosi also refuses to support the Green New Deal to fight climate change. What am I supposed to do, give Nancy Pelosi a medal?

You DARE compare Ms. Pelosi to a "pedophile" just because she doesn't kiss your butt by getting behind things YOU want?
No wonder the US political system and all you "whatabouters" is in the toilet. I'll just bet if Ms. Pelosi told brian she would vote for legalized marijuana in every state, he would wet himself with glee and then she would be alright in his books.
brian voted FOR the democrats in 2016 but now he is an equal opportunity trasher.
How about those indictments for assange brian !!!! I think it was "espionage" ???
