Demand EU Countries Comply With Paris Agreement Fighting Against Climate Change

The Paris Agreement was the first truly serious international agreement in the fight against climate change. The aim of this agreement, which was signed in 2015, was to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and thus the global temperature of the planet.

However, the agreement did not require any specific obligation or commitment for the signatory countries. It was simply approved as a general framework of promises, but the responsibility to make them a reality depends on each country.

Today, 3 years later, the truth is that few of the signatory countries are acting with determination and concrete measures to reduce their emissions. Even in the European Union only seven countries are aligned with the objectives of the agreement: Germany, France, Sweden, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Finland and Portugal. All the other countries have not yet approved clear legislative measures to comply with these objectives.

It's time to demand countries like Spain, Italy, Austria, Poland, Denmark or Ireland to take measures to finally meet the emission reduction targets foreseen by the Paris Agreement.

Sign this petition now and help us to ensure that the rest of the countries of the European Union will be committed to approve laws that effectively fight against climate change.
