Adorable Rescue Puppies Prepare for Puppy Bowl XI

If you aren’t a football fan but you love dogs, you can skip the Super Bowl this Sunday and go right to the pre-game Puppy Bowl XI on Animal Planet. Watch the video to find out why Rott Weiler supports Team Ruff, while Jack Russell is all for Team Fluff.

All the puppies starring in the game were from a shelter or rescue organization. Here are some of the shelters and rescues they came from:

  • Asheville Humane Society
  • Florida Little Dog Rescue
  • Humane Society for Greater Nashua
  • Love for Mutts Rescue
  • Nevada SPCA

The kittens you’ll see during halftime are also from a shelter. While the puppies were adopted shortly after filming ended in October, all of the shelters (and ones near you) have other pets up for adoption.

What do you think of the Puppy Bowl? Thanks for sharing your thoughts in a comment below.

I have watched Puppy Bowl from the first year. I turn it on and let it run all day. I love it. There is nothing better than puppies playing. Not to mention the Subaru commercials are great.

Actually most of the pups in the puppy bowl probably have already been adopted, because it's filmed in October, but like Melissa D, I'd love to just have an hour to play puppy tackle human LOL. I specialize in senior dog rescue, so don't have puppies wriggling around, and sort of miss it at times.

Total cuteness puppy overload. I would love to be put into the "stadium" with all those cute puppies to just snuggle and play with them forever!!!!

They's so adorable! Hopefully each one is adopted by sane loving people the same 4 the kittens.
