With threat to the wildlife and forests having reached a critical stage in the country, prime minister Manmohan Singh has decided to set up a dedicated department to save them.

Great plan if they can bring under control
the growth of human population. Humans are not
only killing off the tigers but they also
are eating up the land space these gorgeous
animals need to survive!

Plant & protect trees for life......

Thanks Cher...had to get to the site to read this one.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO way past due, and goodness hope they don't spend a ton of time talking about it and GET IT DONE NOW!!!

This is WAY important, we have and still are losing so many of these special animals -- before I die I would like to know that they still have numbers in the wild and not only ZOOS.

How did families get into reserves? They should leave tigers land as mandatory.

This sounds like good news. The new department might also need to be given enough power, relative to other departments (eg for economic development), for it to be effective at a high level. The relocation plans sound like a good idea.
