Marvellous news! I am so very pleased about this! They are still very much endangered, though.
I sincerely hope that these plans for increased tourism does not in fact harm the fragile eco system - especially these beautiful creatures!

Thank you, Cher, for a ray of light!

They're not called elusive for nothing ! Thanks Cher for this good news.
Nature has a great documentary called "Silent Roar : The Search for the Snow Leopard". A must-see.

Most excellent to read this. Some people with a brain in their head! I wish they would come to US who doesn't have a brain in their heads and help out some of the dwindling numbers of wildlife, and teach the wealthy ranchers how to protect their livestock from the big bad wolves who are now being slaughtered. Sorry for the bummer.

noted. Thank you. I hope the proposed wildlife tourism idea does not mean a decline in their numbers, or worse. They are truly incredible animals.

Many years ago when I was 12 my mother had a visit from younger sister,I was asked to hang up her coat.It had a lovley soft white fur collar with dark splodges. She told me it was snow leopard from Russia.Later I went to the libraryAnd looked it up.Seeing this wonderful animal in its natural surounds, nearly made me cry, that it could be distroyed for the sake of a collar. The aunt is long gone now I wonder if she would buy the same today I hope not.

Let us make certain we do not cause this beautiful animal to become extinct through our vanity, stupidity and greed.

Beautiful. Let the big cats thrive and outnumber the people.
