I presume the previous owners, The Conservation Fund, were not interested in conserving the Grizzlies habitat?

I would be really pleased if more people would understand that animals have the right to live in peace!

I'm actually not so sure this is good news. Ownership by the conservation fund, in private hands, ensured that it wouldn't be drilled, mined or hunted privately. Many of the nation's public national parks do have all those activities, so I'm wondering why the Conservation Fund sold.

Good news, now if they could just stop killing and harassing their wildlife...

The state is buying the land (320 acres) from The Conservation Fund for $345,000 with a grant from a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services to help the recovery of grizzlies in the northern Continental Divide. Good for Montana!!
Noted with thanks Cher.
