As the second most tradable commodity after oil; coffee has become big business and shows no signs of slowing down. However, the worldâEUR(TM)s increasing appetite for coffee has taken a devastating toll on the environment.

I totally understand needing a quick cup on the go, or wanting a place to meet up with someone. However, most of the coffee shop consumption is by people who are just too lazy to make a cup at work or before leaving the house in the morning. It's really not that hard to put the coffee on while you wash up and dress.

Walking to my local coffee shop is my main reason to get out of the house. Exercise, socializing, and coffee. And yes, they use organic beans. They also use ceramic mugs bought at Goodwill or donated by customers like me who had to cull their trove. Starbucks also has glass tumblers and ceramic mugs if you ask for them (they’re usually hidden behind the wall signs).

The combination of disappearing land and warmer temperatures means your coffee break could be in serious danger. Check out these four super simple ways you can keep your next cup a bit more guilt-free!
1. Bring a reusable mug
2. Recycle coffee grounds
3. Buy Shade-Grown
4. Cold Brew Coffee

Most of the coffee I drink is at home.
