Please take a moment to send a quick note to the presidents of Park Knoll Co-Operative and its management company, PLI Management, and urge them to stop trapping wildlife for good and commit to employing humane deterrents instead:

Please feel free to use our sample letter, but remember that using your own words is always more effective.....

I was appalled to learn that Park Knoll Co-Operative has reportedly once again hired a contractor to trap and kill wildlife who are simply trying to eke out an existence in the area. Killing tears wild families apart, leaving orphaned young to starve. And trapping is cruel, as trapped animals panic and can succumb very quickly to exposure, stress, dehydration, or injuries sustained in their frantic attempts to escape. Furthermore, as you surely must recognize after years of futile reported trapping initiatives, lethal methods don't work to control wildlife populations because more animals will simply move in from surrounding areas to make use of the available resources. Please stop the bloodbath, ditch the trapping efforts, and commit to tried-and-true humane wildlife-deterrent methods!

The Park Knoll Co-Operative, a condominium association in West Harrison, New York, has reportedly once again hired a contractor to trap and kill wildlife who are simply trying to eke out an existence in the area. Our source believes that a mother skunk and her two babies are the targets of the current initiative, although other animals—including opossums and raccoons—who frequent the area would also be in danger. In addition to tearing wild families apart and leaving orphaned young to starve, such initiatives are traumatic for trapped animals, who panic greatly and can succumb very quickly to exposure, stress, dehydration, or injuries sustained in their frantic attempts to escape. Finally, as evidenced by the repeated instances of trapping at Park Knoll, killing wildlife actually backfires because the resultant spike in the food supply will only accelerate breeding of survivors and attract inevitable newcomers, causing populations to increase. PETA contacted Park Knoll in 2012 and 2016 in an attempt to share humane wildlife-deterrent information, but each time, trapping reportedly resumed months or years later. Now, it’s your turn to speak up!
