I HAVE AN AKC REGISTERED SIBERIAN HUSKEY AND A RESCUED COCKAPOO WHO I GOT FROM A HOMELESS SHELTER. I COULD NOT LIVE WITHOUT EITHER ONE OF THEM. A DOG CAN'T HELP WHERE HE COMES FROM HE JUST KNOWS HE'S HERE AND HE WANTS TO BE LOVED

Thank you PETA for bringing out the fact that the AKC is a partner in the puppy mill business. It is thru their existence that the mills can flourish and be given an air of respectability in the pup shop business. There was a series of articles in Dog World magazine years ago that brought the AKC to task. Don't know if the archives would go back far enough but if so it would be worthy reading. Until ALL segments of the puppy/dog business stand up and say a resounding NOOOOO this horror will continue. I watched that show and cried my way thru it partly for the pups and dogs in the mills and partly out of frustration that there are those who could stop it but reap too many profits from these businesses to bring them to a close. It mentioned on the show that some of the pupmillers in Pennsylvania didn't hold the same view of dogs as most of us here on this site. I don't care how they view a dog anyone who takes breath knows that this is wrong and has made a conscious choice that they do not care about the dogs/pups and the potential owners hearts (and pocketbooks when they have to try to cure the ills that inbreeding and unhealthy conditions bring). Perhaps a letter writing campaign to the AKC?
