A total of 22 kilograms of gold, worth about 70 million yen, was recovered from used cell phones that had been collected in a campaign by the government, the Economic, Trade and Industry Ministry announced Friday.

There's gold in them there cells! Sadly one of the problems of extracting stuff from redundant electronics is the cost of getting at the stuff! Any improvement in recycling this huge junk pile world wide has to be good news!

thannnxxx with the amount of cell phones that one goes through in their life time perhaps it would b worthwhile to invest in recycling lol.... sherbet did not know that they had that valuable content in them
