If only they had given some heed to the researcher....Reminds me of the famous seismologist from Thailand, Dr Dharmasaroja who predicted the 2004 tsunami 10 years earlier but was called a 'mad scientist' by Thai officials and accused of trying to destroy the tourism industry...until the fateful day; 26th December. What is the point of having experts and technology, if we ignore their findings? And, when the real thing happens, there are regrets and finger-pointing...

It's an old story. When a fat corporation wants something they can make big money on, they bring in The Don't Worry Be Happy Industry: "We have all this high-tech gear so nothing can ever go wrong. Meltdown? Naah. Oil spill? Naah. Climate crisis? Naah. Then when the inevitable disaster strikes they shrug their shoulders and say "Well, what the hell; accidents happen."
Don't EVER believe a tobacco industry scientist or ANYBODY from the oil, coal, or nuke industries. It's time to wake up. NO NUKES1
