This is not a surprise.....these people do what they want and like most of them do not care about other people ,just about their religion and political power!

Just one more example of Palestinian duplicity. Where are all the rich oil Muslim states when it comes to helping the poor Palestinians? Absent. None of them care, except when the Palestinians can be used to attack Israel and Jews. Hypocrites.

Where are the usual ardent defenders of all things Palestinian? You know who they are. Where is their outrage over this? They'll probably blame is on 'Zionists'.

Well, from rulers that brutalize their own people, persecute non-Muslims, harass women who don't have headscarves (Christians) and beat them or throw acid in their faces, and who torture and lynch gay people, what could any informed person expect?

Perfectly correct! Hamas has far more important matters to attend to than looking after their needy - after all that is the job of the dumb dhimmis in the EU and elsewhere.

Hamas and the Palestinian Authority rejected the United Nations' request that they take in Palestinian refugees who fled Syria during the ongoing brutal civil war, Yedioth Ahronoth reported Thursday.

Finding themselves increasingly isolated, some 150,000 Palestinian refugees in Syria -- there are approximately 350,000 in total in the country -- were forced to flee the Yarmouk refugee camp located outside Damascus due to attacks, including an aerial bombardment, by the Bashar Assad regime. Their flight has created a humanitarian crisis in Damascus; others have fled to Lebanon and Jordan, reportedly causing those countries to become increasingly hostile to their presence there.

According to the report, the head of Hamas in Gaza, Ismail Haniyeh, told UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, that the Gaza Strip couldn't take in Syria's Palestinian refugees due to an ideological issue: If they take in the refugees from Syria, Israel could use it against them when it comes to the Palestinians' demand for the "right to return" to villages inside present day Israel, by pointing out that the refugees no longer need to return to Israel because they have been relocated to new homes in the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Authority's refusal stems from a different reason -- a financial one. The PA, which, according to the report, initially inquired about absorbing the Palestinian refugees in Syria, has experienced severe budget cuts and has begged Arab leaders for millions of dollars in loans to solve its debt crisis. The PA's coffers have been hurt following Israel's decision not to hand over PA tax revenues and other related payments in the wake of President Mahmoud Abbas's successful UN bid for nonmember observer status in November.

In December, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, citing the fragile situation of the Palestinian refugees in Syria, called on Damascus's neighbors, including Israel, to open their borders to them.

Are these not their brethren? How could they refuse them? Humanitarianism isn't part of the religion of peace? What a surprise. Not surprised that their oil rich neighbors will neither offer sanctuary nor financial assistance either. What a way to run a clusteryouknowwhat. But perfectly typical.

I notice that none of the "Israel is evil" types have come to the defense of the PA or Hamas in this thread. The only countries in the Arab world that have EVER tried to offer something beyond lip service to the Palestinians, are Lebanon and Jordan-- both of which have tried extremely hard to maintain a peace with Israel under tremendously difficult circumstances. These people have been pawns for centuries, and are deliberately kept poor and uneducated to serve the goals of the wealthier nations. The cost of a single one of Dubai's artificial islands could probably have built a comfortable house for every single Palestinian, PLUS fed and clothed them for several years. Disgusting.

I think in time of emergency, they should take in some of the refugees. It would also help if Israel didn't hold their tax revenue hostage because they want sovereignty. They deserve sovereignty.

The Arab controlled countries have ill treated Palestinians since they came into existence. Jordan was actually created for them before Israel came into existence.

Now, they are abused in Gaza by Hamas & the PLO, so it is no surprise that they are not interested in any other suffering.

I put up a story at the end of last year PLO: Over 400 Palestinians Killed in Syria Conflict and the anti-Semites were missing (shock and surprise, not - they don't care as long as they can abuse Israel) Beth put up Palestinians Flee to Lebanon After Jet Bombs Syria's Largest Refugee Camp yet there seems to be little knowledge of these atrocities and absolutely no interest.

As an example, Hugh has just shown how little he understands the current situation. A little knowledge and a lot of prejudice helps no-one.

If you can think of anyone who would like to torture you, burn down your home, stab your children, behead you, and then desecrate your family's graves, I think you should invite them into your home. It would be the liberal to do.

It is sad that there are refugees. Gaza should accept as many as they can find room for. The fact that they do not care about the Palestinian people. Hamas is an Iranian organisation and only uses the Palestinians for political purposes.

Typical Middle East, the Muslim do not support each other and that is why they are in this state. As for Israel and Jews in general, they will support each other, no matter where they live. That makes them very strong, just as well. I certainly would not want to live under Sharia law.
