When you want to believe something badly enough, there's no limit to what you'll believe. This is an example. Obama has not refused to salute the flag or recite the pledge. Another character assassination like so many other things they pull out of their..

I wonder if NOBAMA has ever observed fireworks on July 4th??? Does he also believe they should cease? What else does he want to change - - - which is our history in America?

Read snopes' explanation, dear. He didn't say that the flag or the Anthem should be changed or abolished. This was a work of satire on a conservative blog that was missunderstood by so many conservatives that cannot tell the difference between reality and satire.

Noted. We should always be willing to look at facts and to refute unfounded information that circulates as 'fact.' This, in no way, sways my decision as to who should or should not occupy the oval office...I still think that of those who have stepped forward I am the best candidate. Thank you, Clever!

I think you are probably a better candidate too. I'm voting for the Green Party, but if I were in a swing state I'd vote for "not McShame."

No, June 'tis I who doesn't like fireworks on the 4th of July ! And American History would still exist without all that darned noise. Issues, my dear, let's stick to real issues and look beyond this "more patrotic than thou" posturing.

Puuuuuurfect Pamylle...Why should anyone give a damn about a colourful little piece of cloth...(What ultimate use does a flag serve?...Polishing windows?...

Fireworks, a display of noise and wasted money...So many of your fellow citizens (US?) fly it ouside their homes...Poor dissolusioned, indoctrinated souls...

Reciting the pledge?...Holding your hand on your heart...How utterly and absolutely uncalled for and STUPID!

Patriotism?...I live there so we must be right?...

We all share but one planet and one life...Does that not override the misplaced teachings of the past?...Evolve!...

Black, white or brindle...Is it not time to consider that time is running out...(Yes my friend you will die one day as will I)...In the meantime one 6th of the worlds' population cannot afford to buy FOOD!...

Why should anyone care?...Why not?...

Obama may be right, he may be wrong...But then again the guy does suffer from the disease? of an adequate supply of neurons...McCain?...Welllllllllllllllllll!

Yes, I am a frequent recipient of the viral Obama emails. Although many of them state that they checked with Snopes apparently those interested in spreading lies and rumors apparently don't think that people will. I do. No Obama was not sworn in on the Koran, he did remove a flag off his jet but the flag in question was Northamerican Airlines corporate symbol etc, etc etc. And in the end what do all these pissy little bitches really amount to? How about spending the same amount of time sending out the truth on what each candidates stance on each of the issues. But that would require real reading and real thought and becoming a responsible voter instead of showing that you are capable of pushing a "forward" button.

Vote Obama, even if your not in a swing state! We have passed the time to vote outsidethese two candidates. Why would you risk wasting a vote? Have you been in a coma the last 8 years? We had surplus funds when Bush stole the office. And everything thathas happened since...Seriously! We need radical change right now. That change must be about everything that is good in the future. Not War and Nukes and rich fat cats.

salute or not, thought is was a right, why should anyone be told they have to salute? he showed respect by standing. many do not salute because it shows, in their opinion, a form of idol worship. this paranoia over muslim rule is ridiculous, I am still hearing it. if Obama didn't love his country, why would he want to change it for the better? I am so afraid all this hatred is racial. we have not come a long way, Baby. we haven't made any progress at all if this is the case.

Obama's campaign for President is built on the premise that the Democrats must "disagree without being disagreeable" and unite America to solve issues of historic importance. He focuses on his ability to overcome partisan bickering, to work across the aisle, and to produce real results. The idea that someone would be able to unite America and get the government to productively work on important issues sounds idealistic. Understanding that cynicism, Obama stresses that Americans must embrace the 'audacity of hope.' Hope is an irrational belief, a faith in optimism, but hope is also a unifying emotion, one that resonates with people across the globe. By emphasizing that we should all believe in the possibility of a new type of politics, Obama has converted many people, including Republicans, to believe in the possibility of the anti-Bush, a non-ideological leader that respects those who disagree with him and works to find not the Democratic solution, not the Republican solution, but the best solution. Campaigning to replace Bush with a unifying leader, he has struck a chord across the country—as shown by polls, book sales, enormous crowds, and website groups. In this crucial juncture in history, he has the potential to improve how Americans perceive politics, leading to more trust in government and solving some very difficult problems. Like the VERY IMPORTANT FOREIGN AFFAIRS..WHICH MCCRAZY WOULD SIMPLY LIKE TO IGNORE...

I thought the whole original posts were ridiculous and am glad for the explanation. I know I always stand for the Anthem and I put my hand over my heart for the pledge of allegiance, but I don't think I have ever put my hand over my heart of the Anthem. And I am pretty sure I'm not the only one.

Now that we're in the midst of 2 wars, and the US economy is crashing down at our feet, isn't it nice that we can pay attention to truly important things, like what somebody said that Obama might have felt about the national anthem?

You know..., I am NOT voting for Obama, but I must say..., there have been the most ridiculous articles attacking him on so many trival things, compared to what this nation is facing...
I am voting Cynthia Mckinney..Green Party for me. Much Love...Namaste
