U.S. Soldiers Accused of Raping 12-Year-Old Girl in Colombia

For the last four hours, the girl soon told her mother, Ruiz had left her alone in his apartment with his friend, U.S. Army Second Sergeant Michael J. Coen, who had sexually assaulted her. Ruiz, she said, also molested her before leaving her in the park.

I almost fell off of my chair when I read this part; One of the justifications for the huge U.S. military and diplomatic presence in Colombia has always been to help “professionalize” the Colombians and teach them respect for “human rights.
I s'pose this is what the US is doing in Iraq, Gitmo and beyond as well...

Noted! i think they are there to protect the lucrative drug trade. Columbia is known for more than Juan Valdez and his coffee beans. Such a tragedy about that young girl. They should indeed be punished. Talk about corruption! This is disgusting.
