The petition seems to be closed, the goal is achieved. I paste from the site
9/21/2010: Success! The Water for the World Act was passed in the Senate! It's still being reviewed by the House, but our senators have pushed this legislation through. Thank you for signing and helping us reach this monumental goal!

No one company or government agency should allow ones water to be polluted. We must have a law that will have stiff penalties for polluting drinking water. Maybe that would put the quash on the fracturing for natural gas which has already denied many homes of the clean water they once had access to.

Clean drinking water must be regarded and legislated to be a right of all living beings. Any organization, public or private, that pollutes or restricts access to it must face penalties so severe that they will never try it. Water supplies must be public property, and all privatized water systems must be returned to public control.

I cannot send a green star to Norm C., as I have sent one in the past week. Nicely stated Norm. Very coherent which I tried but didn't meet my own expectations. Bet;you would be a good Petition writer.
