This is an experiment. To see if we can turn the tide of corporate media ownership, or at least shine a light on it.

The Tribune Company, a major newspaper publisher which owns the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune and the Baltimore Sun, is the subject of a bidding war, right now, between Rupert Murdoch and the Koch Brothers. For multi-billionaires in the propaganda business, buying up the nation's biggest newspapers is an outright bargain.

ENOUGH. We have an audacious scheme that will let ordinary Americans like you and me buy the Tribune ourselves and make it a non-profit - and whether we make it or not, we need you to help us make an important point about corporate media ownership that's too loud to ignore.

Join us NOW if you think community-owned papers sound a lot better than The Koch Brothers Bulletin or The Fox News Times:

AND JUST SO YOU KNOW: Should we fall short of our goal of $660 Million your contribution will be fully reimbursed. You'll get back every penny.

Yep, in fact I think it's THE BEST IDEA they ever had and I told them this, too in comments.
Sue, need not be a few thousand, just a few is sufficient! :-))

note, you NEED NOT give a minimum of $10, JUST ANY AMOUNT! This will add up as it always has before.
