While US citizens voiced their opposition to KXL with more than 2 million public comments, at the same time, hundreds of state legislators have been lining up in favor of KXL, seemingly just as passionate and as heartfelt as those opposed to the project.

Amazing the illusions that money can buy...how many illusions are just the Koch preferences that no one else really shares but stay silent because of how loud their money speaks?

JL A says it correctly, the whole KXL issue, fracking, mining, ND 'boom" and the elections are going to be the millions spent by the liars vs the truth.....

..all true but unfortunately it have also been the VOTERS who stayed silent-less sh%&& would have happened had these voters acted right last time around... just hoping they got smarter for next round. apparently not all Amercians seem to care for the environment as long as they're "promised a job"... and keep believing the lies..

I am pro-run the pipeline straight up the Koch bros. rears since they are so bound and determined it be completed. I would consider that complete.....not to mention it would put a big smile on my face. I have been told many times I have a nice smile or maybe just an evil one. It is one of those anyway.

Isn't it so sad that most of our incomes rely on liars, tramps and thieves. We should all be in the green and/or humanitarian business.

Tragic would be the word, Nancy.

Debra V.-that sounds like a suitable destination port, plus would make a great remedy against constipation.

Although we have signed numerous petitions to Obama and Kerry and they know how the majority of American feel they will still approve the pipeline. I believe corporations are too close to politicians and can get anything they want. I live in Ohio and this state is controlled by Republicans so I am not surprised the Ohio House and Senate approves the pipeline.

Being "too close" is a nice understatement.. there would be other more suitable expressions ;-)

The oil companies are used to doing whatever they wanted during the Bush administration and they aren't liking having to bend to the public. They are used to buying Republican votes but it's the people who elect those in Congress and we must be very careful and educated on who we elect to Congress.

Oil pipelines are never safe. They just had a spill in North Dakota. Big dark money lies just makes more big dark money as they pollute and destroy and use people in the pursuit of profit. Thanks for posting Angelika.

People like the Koch brothers may have to be pulled into a clean future kicking and screaming...but if the rest of us do what's right, into that future we'll all come. Until we stop installing oil spills--I mean oil pipelines--this planet will never be clean.

Just because the company wants it doesn't mean all their employees follow suit. It's disgusting that ALEC has this much power. Many good comments. Thanks for the post, Angelika.

Noted! (But I wonder how my credits disappear. I suddenly have no credits and there is no change no matter how much I engage me.)

Every law with favorable support from ALEC should be overturned with prejudice so they can never be reintroduced and every company supporting ALEC should have their corporate charters revoked and their assets seized.

Robert K-that's wishful thinking, ..or a dream come true..there need to be more public engagement and petitions to urge corporations to DROP ALEC, as many already have, but definitely not enough.

@ Jan F.- there are technical issues with the site, please go to the F&S group threads and get info there!
