This is horrific and unnecessary! There are NO documented cases of bison transmitting brucellosis to cattle so why are they being hazed, shot and harrassed? Please read full story and take action immediately! Write letters to everyone!

Thank you Barb! On the BFC site there are addresses if you want to write these horrible agencies. I have been doing it for years and hopefully one day they will get tired of the pressure people put on them....I even emailed President Obama. We all just need to keep the pressure on.

This is deplorable, and nothing but an excuse to kill bisons. We should use helicoptors and chase these people around and see how they like it, and how many of them may just break a leg so they could see how it feels. Why is there this WAR ON WILDLIFE going on?

Dalia and Barbara thank you for getting angry too. Do not let it stop there. Write or email people....these poor animals have been being killed and hazed for years because of the cattle ranchers. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Bison/buffalo were here before the cows were!

Thanks for the info, Vicky. How dreadful that these beautiful babies are being treated like this.

Just reading this you can see the sadism and the unmitigated joy at having license to torment and taunt these animals. Man creates these agencies as firewalls against interference from those who sympathize with the victims. I am entertaining visions in my head of hazing the agencies and the men who did this...with unmitigated delight-what a travesty.

Thank you Lindsey, Rafael and Clara for signing. And I agree with you Rafael about hazing those very agencies who are trying to play GOD! Cause you're right Clara...who gave humans the right to dictate where an animal can roam or not. The bison have been migrating those lands for a very long time!

Who gave HUMANS the license to harrass or otherwise harm any animal. How can we claim possession of any portion of land? It is not ours to take, or to push anyone away from, including all mammals, or other living beings. this is not our Earth. It is God's (Great Spirit, Almighty, Creator, or whoever one turns to as the "bigger than me" being). Have we ever been instructed to stake claim on any place. No, in fact, we are the last link of evolution. i'm sure whoever is in charge of it was ready to give up, fearing the next would be even worse. I am really fed up with humans, the lowest form of life.

Oh, and those that are 'free' out west are the last of the 100% genetically pure....the other buffalo are bred and raised on farms and are mixed.

You can make your voice heard to the Federal Aviation Administration and file a complaint about how an FAA-registered helicopter is being used by the Montana Department of Livestock to harass and harm members of America's last wild population of bison. The helicopter disrupts the entire ecosystem and all its inhabitants, including wild bison, grizzly bears, wolves, nesting birds such as Sand Hill cranes, bald and golden eagles, and white pelicans. Human residents on the western edge of Yellowstone National Park are also disturbed by the use of the helicopter, which flies extremely low through neighborhoods to scare up bison, hazing them towards Yellowstone. Yellowstone National Park has shamefully allowed the DOL's helicopter to intrude within the boundaries of the world's first national park. Please contact the FAA to complain about the use of the DOL's helicopter (registered N1095T) during bison hazing operations. If enough complaints are received, we may be able to stop the helicopter from being used, or at least make it very difficult for the DOL to find a helicopter that is willing to participate in such aggressive tactics.

Just how much gas is used in this helicopter operation? Often the use of a helicopter is denied in search operatiions in some areas becuase of the high cost of operation. Does this mean hazing bison is more important than life itself. Or is this the old story of the survival of the sadist is sacrosanct in American culture, the wild west is as depicted in old movies after all! The noise of helicopters alone must terrify animals into doing stuff they would not normally do, no wonder they break legs etc This is sadism of the blowtorch up the bum variety and should be halted before any more creatures are harmed or unessassrily displaced. Which manual did these characters find the instructions in "Mein Kampf"?

I sent a message to EVERYONE listed on the page for government agencies!! I CANNOT believe what kind of heartless slime can chase down a mother and newborn baby. That is beyond low, beyond despicable, beyond appaling!! these men should be taken out and beaten!! I feel sick to my stomach thinking that anyone could be that callous and cold. I hope their horses throw them and they get to feel what it's like to be trampled!!!

This is the continuum of genocide against indigenous people here in the "USA" - the buffalo are demonized because of their sacred relationship with Native American people here. The greed and stupidity of the big ranchers and their cronies in "law" enforcement and government agencies are doing the same sh** that they've ALWAYS DONE HERE. They are are demons and vicious racist monsters - that's why they particularly delight in maiming, torturing and murdering the Buffalo - just like Sarah Palin delights in torturing and slaughtering wolves and their babies.
Mother Nature has begun the punishment for the 'human' race [sic]. Genocide is genocide - racist bureaucrats and violent "enforcers" are hasting the extinction of the 'human' race. NOBODY CAN SIT BACK AND NOT FIGHT BACK - WE ARE ALL RELATED, HUMANS & CRITTERS ALIKE - MITAKUYE OYASIN!

Horrible, simply horrible. We should NEVER do this to baby animals.
Those responsible need to do some prison time for this.

I can't tell you how good it makes me feel to see everyone angry and willing to speak out against these atrocities! I pray all of you will continue this fight til the bison are vindicated! My goodness millions were killed down to about 21 in the 19th century and they made a magnificent comeback and I'll be damn if I will let this jerks further decimate their numbers! COME ON EVERYONE...LET'S STAY ON TOP OF THIS. Thank you and God bless you, too!

The government slaughtered off these wonderful beasts, for they could starve out, and therefore control the Indians, and they fear that if these Bison herds were returned to even a fraction of their original strength, that the peoples sovereignty, strength, ans spirit would return, and the government would lose all power and control!!!
