Over three-quarters of Pal Town's homes in Japan's Ota City are covered by solar panels. The solar panels were distributed for free in 2002 through a 9.7 billion yen state-backed research to ensure steady supply of power and to prevent blackouts.

I applaud them!

Driving around my sunny Arizona city, I've only seen a handful of solar panels on roofs. I hope it's just because they're too expensive at this time, and not just due to apathy.

I hope the new administration takes this issue seriously, which I think they will. Stop forking over billions to financial and auto CEOs, and get the green industry up and running. Then prices will eventually drop, as they did with computers and other innovations.
