Well it is the second oldest profession in the world! Farming was the first. And I doubt if there will be much call for farmers at the World Cup.

What's the fuss about capitalism should proud of the entrepreneurial spirit shown by these ladies! Without the demands made by men they would be redundant!

Where there is demand there will be supply. The world cup gives many an opportunity to profit. It is sad that in our enlightened society women and men need to risk their health, and that of others, for such paltry rewards.

I hate that "oldest profession" BS. That cliche is meant to normalize the commodification of women's bodies and has no basis in historical fact.

the sex industry seems to be gaining a 'it is normal' image and becoming accepted.
personally I feel it is responsible for a lot of the problems plaguing society
Being a parent is the oldest profession, surely? If you want to protect children, young people and the very fabric of society, please sign
for a step in the right direction

Sharon...I've always thought that STORY-TELLER was the oldest profession....same as your theory....same job, isn't it? Frankly, I dislike the "oldest profession" label on prostitutes. It's wrong--back in the early days, men didn't have to PAY women for sex! They hit us on the head and dragged us into the bushes!
