Excerpt from article:
Government officials this week announced that captured
bison exposed to brucellosis would be shipped to slaughterhouses.

That plan came to a temporary halt on Thursday after several
conservation groups sought a restraining order in federal court.

The legal motion is part of a broader federal lawsuit by sportsmen
and environmentalists, who argue government land managers are
violating their own regulations and the public trust by chasing,
confining and killing Yellowstone's wild bison.

This does not seem to be culling, but a drive to extinction.

It is immoral to "manage" the bison this way; it has become an issue primarily because Montana cattlemen, dealers in blood money, want to slaughter unexposed cows for human consumption. Not only that, the exposed bison would be "processed" in the same slaughter houses that "process" cattle for human consumption.

Go veg and put an end to this idiocy.

What Part Of " AMERICA"S LAST PUREBRED Herd " is hard to understand???

What does " No Documented Case of Wild Bison Infecting Cows with BRUCELLOSIS, but such a Transmission Has Been Produced in a LAB " mean to other CARE2 members ???

To Me It Means, It HAS NOT HAPPENED, outside the LAB !!!

The only good thing to come out of all this: The Fenced in Bison are getting Fed & Watered, by the very Government that wants to destroy them !!!

I would think the BISON could Qualify for an Endangered Species (less than 4,000 left) & should be receiving Government Protection & Conservation Measures should be getting put into place. !!!

Has anybody asked the Native Americans what they think???

Oh Sorry, they are Not Members of the Montana Cattlemen's Group & don't get a Vote???

OOOPS. What Do I know, I'm just an Animal Lovin' AUSSIE !!!

I also read an article that stated that this disease that some cows have - DID NOT COME FROM THE BISON.
These ranchers of Montana - including the Governor - want all the land for their cattle and nothing more. It is always greed that causes the destruction.

Nancy Forler........I agree.
These cattle rancers are all out for themselves.
I know of a cattle ranching family who think
nothing of killing wolves & the buffalo.

Ditto Nance, and don't quote me, but I recently read that there has not been a single case of transmission of Brucellosis from Bison to Cattle. This about greed; that all life is expendable if it gets in the way of profit.

Not enough defense of Bison as well as not enough defense of wolves and coyotes and burros and horses etc... How many million people are there in the US? Not enough to ask for the protection of animals? Not to mention the thousands that could help from all the countries in the world.Open petitions everywhere at the same time, send letters to every related to animal & decision maker institute and ask for all animals protection and or interested persons, groups to unite to ask for animals protection. It is sad but only some groups are partners in this.Everyone works appart and it is very little what they are achieving. On the contrary, fur, animal parts and meat market for example,is growing all over the world. It is not diminishing as we think. It is a vigorous market and growing by the day. China is not the only one making big money with animals.
I can only recommend to stop eating meat for some time at least. What would happen if 16 million people stopped eating meat for six months? A CHANGE!
