Many people who lived through the 1986 Chernobyl accident are still suffering the after-effects, and the new nuclear crisis unfolding in Japan serves as another reminder of just how long recovery can take

I HEARD SOME OF THIS ON PACIFICA RADIO THIS MORNING! VERY DISTURBING! HOW DISPENSABLE WE ARE!! LIKE SOLDIERS !! USING NUCLEAR IS LIKE SAYING, IT'S GOING TO END SOONER OR LATER, SO LET'S USE IT !! USING NUCLEAR , WITHOUT ANY CONTROL OVER A LONG TERM, (ETERNAL?), MELTDOWN ,IS BEYOND IRRESPONSIBILITY. IT'S EVEN BEYOND INSANITY. IT IS FOREVER OUTRAGEOUS !! WHAT ABOUT LIFE?? WHAT ABOUT THIS SACRED EARTH? OUR CHILDREN?? OURSELVES??
NO FAIR. MONEY CAN NOT BE THE ULTIMATE DECISION IN LIVING IN THIS WORLD. WHAT MORE CAN WE DO ABOUT OPENING CONSCIOUSNESS ?? HOW CAN WE GET INTO THE HEADS OF THE
MONEY MINDED ?? NO NUKES, FROM BEFORE 1970, NO NUKES, AND WE GOT HUNDREDS NOW!!

Deeply sad. If more people had marched and protested, maybe they would have made more impact. Nuclear power as a cheap energy source ? I don't think so. The price to our planet is is immeasurably high. Not a risk we should ever have taken, and we must put a stop to it.
