When the ball drops this New Year's Eve, America's first aboveboard cannabis markets will rise in Colorado and Washington. Uruguay is expected to follow as the first country to legalize the one-time devil weed

Noted. Thanks, Cal. Well, he makes a lot of sense.....decriminalize in small amounts. Personally, I think some of the more addictive drugs like heroin can cause a great deal of harm, though. He should make it a mission to get cannabis off Schedule 1 and go from there.

Makes perfect sense. Harm minimisation, through medically supervised supply could be one way to go. Liberalising possession and use by decriminalising or even legalising marijuana use, perhaps differentiating between personal use and trafficable quantities, and permitting individuals to grow their own, with a limit of say five plants, would help remove organised crime from supplying and profiting from the drug.

Later innovations could include registering farmers to grow marijuana, or limiting commercial supply to government owned farms, where quality control could be maintained and where public distribution through sale from registered cafes, as in the Netherlands, may be possible.

Very interesting article, noted, thanks for posting Cal.

It would free up the police, the judicial system, and the prison system.

I would love it to be!
The feds just busted all the dispenseries in Colorado.
Until they allow this, its a crap shoot.
They did it in San Diego, no dispenseries, TOO MUCH fear of the feds...if only
Thanks Cal, I'm lucky to have a card!
