The old Soviet Union had a variety of mainstays when they were confronted by the West. Putin's rambling press conference confirmed their salience today:

usa...Pot calling the kettle black...yet again....Amazingly short memories on c2 it seems.....not so long ago Putin stopped the usa Warmongers from bombing hell out of Syria....or doesn't that count? Would you rather Obamas gang started WW3? Serious question....

Thank you Cal noted. This is a interesting article. Putin is one of the old guard in Russia and his own people are not happy. Not all Russians rely on Putin's broadcasts for real information thanks to social media.

Good article, I think his KGB training helped with his ability to lie. Thanks Cal

well, if he tells lies, he isn't alone, that's for sure...
How many pots out there calling the kettle black? pretty interesting, especially those that will 'kick' anyone or anything, and pretend it just isn't happening!!!
Media is over-run with agendas, and the lies and distortions are the norm, not the exception.
Gangsters in the west, gangsters in the east, north and south - and that's nothing new.
Now the lies can be spread a lot quicker - and the facts.

'kick'/annihilate anyone or anything - when they're down, vulnerable, I was going to say.

And some lie, not just 'more easily', but without any compunction, whatsoever - like having a cup of coffee, or as if it were, the 'normal' thing to do.

Pots are always calling kettles black. Doesn't make the kettles any less black. And it is not IF.

We have no way of getting into this mess militarily (thankfully), but we have to be careful to not make things worse by our arrogance. By what right do we intervene, anyway? I would really appreciate someone telling me. I understand the moral issue of freedom and self-determination. But mightn't we wait until we are asked instead of determining that our way is "the" right way?

He tells no more lies than politicians in the west and he hasn't done anything that the US and UK governments haven't done in the past.

No, he's better at it than Western politicians. It's not that he lies any less, he's just better at it.

Perhaps you don't understand the Russian Language or the Russian was of talking, in general. You never talk about something, you talk around it. But at some point you need to demonstrate it's a lie and not just make a statement. I tend to get my news from the Economist, and there I found "The reality is that Mr Putin sees holding Ukraine within Russiaís sphere of influence as a vital national interest that he is willing to run pretty big risks to secure. What is more, it seems highly probable that he does not take threats from Mr Obama particularly seriously. He has seen at close hand the American presidentís disastrous vacillation over Syria, culminating in the scuttling away from his own red line declaring punishment for the Assad regime if it used chemical weapons. He no doubt also draws conclusions from big American defence spending cuts in the pipeline and Mr Obamaís extreme sensitivity to the war-weariness of American voters."

Just let the markets take care of the problem.

He is egomaniacal. He lies with ease, because he doesn't believe (and with some very good reason) that anyone will call him on it. Until he is out of office permanently, these things are going to occur because he can't see beyond his own desires. I believe, whether it is true or not, he will not be happy until he reunites the USSR and becomes another Stalin or Lenin.

Certainly Putin lies are a lot less then Obama & many in the good old USA, it takes a Zionist to find articles like this to post! Also all MSM is full of lies with dis-information, but then again Zionist have the monopoly of MSM & so many are fooled once again.

Putin reminds me of the former USSR Premiers. There is little for me to believe he would like to roll back time to the late 1970's.

Putin would fit in good with some of the nutty neo-cons in the US Congress.

Really. How often has the USA acted to protect its strategic interests. Do you think Cuba has a happy time? Was George Bush honest? Come on. Be sensible and honest. Articles like this make me scratch my head.

I don't think it's possible for a politician to rise to the top of his/her country *without* lying.

Perhaps the header should read: "Why do Obama and Putin Lie So Easily"?

Donít expect any honest reporting from the mainstream media. Obama, of course, will lie through his teeth, as he has done so many times before, and so will the media as it has done so many times before. --- Whatever the truth turns out to be, it will be the opposite of the Obama regimeís explanation.

Is Putins propaganda any more insane than Obamas'?

I suppose that if I wanted to post an article on the foibles and outright misrepresentations of other governments beside Russia I could probably and would probably have done so. This doesn't mean that Russia and its leadership has its own problem in this area and shouldn't be apologized for.

I will go with Occam's Razor on this one. Putin is career KGB, he spent 5 years in Directive S working with the East German Stasi, which may have gotten him promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in the KGB. He got to where he is by being a trained and consummate liar both in the KGB and Russian political circles. Face it in the KGB particularly working with the Stasi if you are a bad liar you are also a dead liar.

Lies like those before the UN for our invasion of Iraq? Lies ti the Native Americans, or our Bush ex-CIA director ans his son as a sign to the world of who is running things. We call it disinformation here.
No coincidence this is all happening right on the Olympics like the entrapment of Afghanistan when they had the 1980 Olympics.
Putting missile around Russia undoing the Cuban missile crisis and pulling missile out of Turkey. So putting missiles back means missile coming back in like kind. This time the pivot to Asia may mean BRICS could bite back and all of South America may begin to side with them.

It says in our constitution any politician who harms, lies to any Canadian the party is voided and out of govt immediately..so when is this Harpers turn to get the boots and 14 years in prison..? All the scandals not uncovered yet waiting to denounce this schizoid dictator.
So laws mean nothing..ignored..biz as use you all..it's like a pin ball game, shit flying every where bells going off..lights flashing..and that's it..nothing else..deflections. Endless talk..nothing changes.
