Prairie dogs are commonly found throughout Colorado, but some areas are already attempting to evict the animals from their habitats by poisoning their colonies.

STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!

Prairie dogs are an important part of the ecosystem. They feed carnivores, they eat insects and without them, the system will break down.

The black-footed ferret depends on them and so do birds of prey.

This is SO SHORTSIGHTED!

Noted and signed and T Thanks for sharing Cal First of all my prayers go out to the gentleman who lost his dog and is now fighting for his own life. If the Humane Society advises that the elimination of the prairie dog will not solve anything but actually make things worse then the residents should give the humane society a chance. Poison is very inhumane.

the poisoning of the prairie dogs will have an effect on predators and scavengers who will no doubt feed on the carcases of the dead animals.I also suspect that the destruction of these rodents will increase the incidences of the plague as the fleas will seek other hosts such as humans and their pets. It's better to leave well alone.when a cull of the badger population was held in the UK in order to reduce TB in farmers cattle it actually increased the disease in stead of eradicating it.Herein lies a lesson.

In the 21st century, one would think we would stop such foolishness! Humans continuously torture the natural world and all the creatures in it and expect no fall-out. Humans are certainly not the superior sprecies and we prove that everyday!!
Truly sad!!

What makes us think we have to right to murder ANY living being?? For any reason?

If we want to murder anyone, it should be those who murder the innocent.

Noted and signed. Its very cruel to poison any animal as it causes them much suffering and an agonising death as in the case of the poor innocent dog and his owner who is very ill,i wish him a speedy recovery.R.I.P little dog.WHY must humans keep killing our precious wildlife, animals and the creatures who live in the oceans, one day in the future there will be none left to torture and kill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Putting down poisons leads to causing the deaths of many innocent animals like the hedgehogs here in the UK,people put out slug pellets to kill the poor old slugs which in turn kills the hedgehogs and many other species of creatures that eat the poisoned slugs,i would never put any poison out in my garden they can eat what they like!!! Leave the cute Prairie Dogs alone to live their life!!! Thank you Cal.Liz Xx
