Oh so sad to read this, and Lucille will be quiet now. I'm so glad I had the privilege to see him perform live several times.

Your comment was perfect Cal, the thrill is certainly gone.....but not forgotten. In this time of living we have ability to hear his music over and over again.

BB King! The best blues guitarist that is, was, and forever will be! Saw him live a few times when I was younger. Lucille was wailin those nights! May she forever be enshrined in the Hall of Fame! The music that flowed from that guitar was timeless! And will always be!
RIP, BB King!

The son of poor Southern share-croppers rose to such heights due to his ability to channel life experiences and emotions into his music. A unique voice and talent. I have loved him every since I saw the BBC documentary, "BB King: The Life of Riley" (available in full on YouTube): as Bill Cosby says in the intro, 'a story of survival'...

RIP BB---one of the songs he sang was, "Nobody Loves Me But My Mama, (And She Could Be Jivin' Too)" -----well---I bet his loved him---and most definitely the fans all over the world will forever love him and preserve and play his music, passing it on to future generations. It will be interesting to see if his precious guitar, "Lucille" is meant to be still, or if he chose to pass it on to another blues guitarist he admired. We know she'll be weeping, either way,
