We need to make sure "entitlements", such as HUD subsidies, which the conservatives are always trying to get rid of, are absolutely kept in place so the numbers of homeless families does not increase.

Actually, if we are willing to keep printing more money for millionaires and corporations, why not do so to keep people off the streets ?

I really wanted to read this, but it says article is unavailable...?

most republicans think the poor people are poor because we are lazy, dont work, expect handouts or a free ride, when all we want are the same opportunities, so that the American dream is obtainable for anyone willing to work for it., and NOT have the American dream just for the people born with a silver spoon in their mouths- i dont think they ALL had to work as hard as the poor or middle class does now, just to hang on to the small bite of the American dream that they havent lost in the past 8 years by total ignorance of Bush co...
we dont want a FREE ride to the American dream, just the same opportunity...some fairness please.
As of now, the so called American dream, is M.I.A...
we have all lost so much, more than we are aware of too, i am sure.
