Alzheimers Disease Vaccine Nears Testing Phase Could Prevent And Reverse Dementia

An AlzheimerâEUR(TM)s vaccine could be just a few short years away. Initial preclinical results show the vaccine could slow or reverse the effects of AlzheimerâEUR(TM)s in patients in addition to preventing the disease when given to heathy people.

Big pharma cashing in on how to get more vaccines into healthy people!!!
They disgust me!
All they know so far about Alzheimer's is the two proteins that cause plaque in the brain, there is MUCH more they don't know!

Noted, forwarded and shared ultra-liberally!! This is good news-if big pharma dont suppress it in the end! Many thanks for sharing Lona! :)

I'm sorry you feel this way, Animae. But as Alzheimer isn't a contagious disease as far as we know now, you need not worry that you'll be forced to get vaccinated. If it is ever proven it works, it'll be your personal choice, much like vaccinations against cervical cancer girls can opt for here and unlike vaccinations against the pox which led to it's eradication.

These studies are not from Big Pharma, by the way, s a joint project between a team from Flinder’s University in Australia, the Institute of Molecular Medicine, and the University of California. Flinder's has secured funding from the National Institute of Health in Australia. The article also ends by saying research currently will focus on slowing down or reversing Alzheimer's in patients with dementia. Trials in healthy people are just too costly at the moment.

It has nothing to do with how i FEEL Lona, these are the medical facts

They should be spending all funding on learning more about it, they do not know enough about Alzheimer's to create a vaccine.

If you are able to dig deep enough you will find funding will be connected to big pharma under the guise of fancy names.

Johnson & Johnson Bets On Alzheimer’s Vaccine

"Johnson & Johnson (AKA big pharma) which recently announced its intent to break into three rapidly emerging but UNPROVEN arenas of disease research, has begun unveiling details of its plans.
The areas that Johnson & Johnson has identified could prove lucrative; the market for Alzheimer's treatments is valued at $5 billion worldwide and expected to grow to as much as $20 billion by 2020.
In order to succeed, researchers must first learn more about the way the disease spreads and then engineer a vaccine to combat it."

I like the idea, am glad to hear it. Would Big Pharma want to get into it? You bet! I don't have to like that, but that is not reason to put my future health at risk.
I took the vaccine against shingles, may have taken the one against TB, or will at my next yearly checkup.
The Anti-vaxxers, in California are acting on old, debunked, information. Vaccines do not cause autism, for example, but sometimes people can not let go of their initial response to hearing something, especially if it was upsetting at the time of first hearing.

Well, I wouldn't volunteer to test it, primarily because my immune system is so compromised with multiple allergies I'd be afraid of throwing the results off. And I don't want to belittle Alzheimer's, which God knows is serious and tragic. But I really wish they could come up with something to prevent and treat Republican dementia before it is too late.

There are other things out there too, not pharma funded, that seem to have good effect - according to studies I've read. I read something yesterday in the paper that said that many cancers and other diseases of age have been declining precipitously for the last 20 years or so. They still happen but the rate is falling. Same article said that not all people are susceptible to the amyloid plaque that ensnares the brain - they can test for that already. The big problem with Alzheimer's is that it starts 20 years before symptoms manifest and by then it is too late to begin treatment. There has to be a way to identify the risks for people earlier and then get them on whatever turns out to work the best at stopping it in its tracks. I believe that is possible. And maybe not all that far off.
