Great news!

"n her acceptance speech, she reiterated her mantra of "No to violence" and stressed the importance of dialogue.

"The Palestinian teacher can talk to the world now. Hand in hand we can affect change and provide a safe education to provide peace," she told the AP."

And in the Guardian article
Palestinian Teacher Wins Global Prize Worth $1m
, she said:
"In her acceptance speech, given in Arabic, she said: “I am proud to be a Palestinian female teacher standing on this stage. I accept this as a win for all teachers in general and Palestinian teachers in particular.

“Each day, the role of the teacher is reinforced and its importance confirmed as the world questions what future we want for our children.”"

This fantastic news also made it to the AP Big Story and rightly so! (http://bigstory.ap.org/article/13e45769281a40169c63c3bb97298b9b/palestinian-teacher-wins-1-million-global-teacher-prize)
With this it should become still harder to claim it's the Palestinians who do not want peace!
Thanks Sam for the great news and congrats to a post that even our friend JdA will have to love! ;-)

It's wonderful to see how Hanan al-Hroub got the world's recognition for the priceless work she's dong as a teacher of non-violence. Good luck to her. I hope she can inspire many more to be a teacher like she is with the prize she has won.

And this is a great slap o those who synonymise the Muslims with terrorists. She is one and had the Palestinians been so they would have issued a fatwa on her
