Well I am a bit biased being it is my namesake. Yet they are truly smart. This video so much captured my attention you have to see it. Berndt Heinrich who wrote Mind of the Raven narrates.. Ever since I worked with a captured injured Raven I am in Love!

Back in 2004 I worked as an Avian Keeper at Alaska Raptor Center, we were mostly a rehab center for Bald Eagles and other Birds of Prey, however Gillie our injured Raven and I became good pals real quick. Her antics and intelligence captured me for life.

Birds are amongst the most intelligent beings on the planet, have no doubt! The Family Corvidae outsmart others, make and use tools, and have elaborate social structure...sounds pretty advanced to me ;)

thanks everyone for your joyful comments and notes. This fall I received a scholarship for a course at Cascades institute with John Marzulff, author of in the company of Ravens and Crows, a university of washington wildlife professor. Even though I already know a fair bit, I am hoping to see about volunteering for him on some study... kwonk kwonk.. P.S. I talk to Ravens everyday and my talk is getting pretty darn good.. hugs, raven sky
