We have to make this the last straw, there are so many impeachable offenses that can be proven by what is on videotape with bush admitting that he broke the law that it's beyond absurd.

We will never, ever have any chance of getting this country back if people do not get mad and vocal.

Let us make sure we are heard LOUD AND CLEAR. !

There are several, but off the top of my head, this is one I've been promoting:

HOWEVER, it's obvious that we must all sign EVERYTHING we run across to promote this issue. We are being openly ridiculed for voicing our wishes. Our representatives are clearly mocking us!

As some of you know I agree completely with the need for impeachment of Bush. My concern with some of what is going on here is psycho-spiritual. Continual angry confrontation most often leads to violence and rarely achieves peaceful results. Proclamation is essential but due credit sometimes softens the ground. I read in that article that someone is listening and taking action. Even if it is not the action desired it is progress on the right path. Don't get overly cynical and tell me it is just a diversion and won't go anywhere. That's just where it will go if we antagonize the people who are doing something by getting angry and saying their efforts are worthless. Congratulate them and encourage them to do even more. Recognize that there is a beginning within Congress.

noted. I have been outraged, dismayed, and incredulous that so many months have passed during which I have written, called, blogged, emailed, faxed supporting impeachment, yet he still occupies the Oval Office. I will continue to do all that I can to support his removal from office, but the reality, I fear, is that this will be held back until he leaves office and not through the process of impeachment.

I know that this will not go over well with most of you but I have to state that I believe that Conyers just doesn't want to waste time and money on something that will accomplish nothing at this time. By the time that any impeachment actions could be taken, George W. Bush will be out of office anyway. We have an election coming up and a lot of issues that should be addressed. It is too late for impeachment proceedings. It may make you feel good but it will accomplish nothing while costing the taxpayers a lot of money.

Kathleen Hilliker (293)
Friday July 18, 2008, 4:41 pm
Once again, this action (or lack of it) proves to us all that there is NO 2-party system anymore in this country. If the Democrats aren't strong enough to stand up and do what we're directing them to do, they might as well wear an elephant pin instead of an American flag on their lapels.

All I can add is that after living MANY years in Michigan, and watching Conyers in action, I've never been impressed with him or his political actions.

Another thing I'd like to say.....directed at Esther. It is NOT a wast of time OR money if it's something the country wants done. It's more than just impeaching them before they're in/out of office. It's about DOING it. About letting future voters (our kids & grandkids) KNOW how we felt about the way this country was run under these men, and that it gets documented formally in official documents, and future US history books.

Terrie Williams (798)

There is no statutory limit on MURDER or WAR CRIMES, we can 'reach out and touch someone' 10, 20, 30 years after the fact.

So, if the COWARDS and the COMPLICIT in Congress wish to give the Twig a pass on impeachment....we can always get him later. That may or may not be what Conyers is thinking as well. He may or may not be a coward or he may or may not be complicit. But, we can definately thank the Rollover Queen, Pelosi, for blocking any and all efforts to impeach since 2006. Which makes her not only look GUILTY OF SOMETHING, it makes her look BOUGHT or blackmailed. And if it's blackmail....makes me wonder if she's getting kickbacks from Haliburton, KBR or Blackwater. You would be surprized at who in the Democratic party ARE making blood money off this war. Don't believe me, go look it up yourself. Start with FEINSTEIN. It's an eye-opener.

I lost faith in Congress long ago. There are only a precious few who have not been bought or sold out. One that hasn't been corrupted is Kucinich. Another is Paul. Beyond them, there are precious few.

Carole Sarcinello (338)
Friday July 18, 2008, 5:01 pm

Thanks, Kat and Terrie.

This argument that Bush is on his way out, and therefore, we should just "leave him alone" because it will cost too much . . . is pure crap! Since when, do we have presented to us volumes of evidence pointing toward criminal behavior, against ANYONE, and choose to ignore it because the "timing is wrong?"

I have seen greater anger toward a suspected animal abuser! This man is feeding the coffers of his war-profiteering friends -- and WE are paying for it. Plus, he wants the lives of our children, and those of any country he wishes to invade. GET REAL!

A great deal of damage can still be done, costing much more than removal. (How much does a human life cost?) Plus, I, as a taxpayer, do not want to be "cajoled" into paying for a criminal, and his family's, remaining lives.

Feinstein??? Don't get me started. Ms. Dianne is one of my own representatives [sic] -- and is totally useless!

One of the most heart-breaking comments on the petition:

# 2999:
Jul 13, 2008, Pete Sulkowski, Washington
As a U.S. service member who has served in Iraq, and served the interests of this country overseas for over 40 months since 2002 I would say that this is long overdue. This president supported Karl Rove and his team of muck-slingers as they impugned the service of two decorated combat veterans: Senators Al Gore and John Kerry; this from George W. Bush, who failed to complete even his minimum service obligation: As a result of his failure to take his physical, his flight status was suspended by his commander on 1 August 1972, confirmed by Col Bobby Hodges on 5 September 1972 and confirmed again by a National Guard Bureau order on September 29, 1972, which meant he no longer was authorized to fly as a pilot. The confirmation order also confirmed the suspension of flight status of Major James R. Bath, a long-time friend of Bush. The Air Force regulation cited here, AFM 35-13 Para 2-29m[11] required the commander of Bush's Texas National Guard unit to "direct an investigation as to why the individual failed to accomplish the medical examination"[12] but there is no evidence this investigation ever occurred. ( According to the C.B.O. (Congressional Budget Office) the discretionary cost of the "war" in Iraq (over and above budgeted military spending) now exceeds $16-billion/month, much of which is going to corporations, and contractors owned by "conservative" right-wing interests and investment groups, who also benefit from the sweeping Bush corporate tax cuts -- even as they loudly proclaim their support for the "troops", while over 50-million Americans are unable to obtain adequate health care, if any at all. George W. Bush is a disgrace to the U.S. military, and an even greater disgrace to this country -- it's well past time to end this corrupt, and morally bankrupt administration for the benefit of the country, and for the greater good of every American man, woman, and particularly the children of this great country who will have to bear the burden of the idealogical demagogery that has financially, and morally crippled this country. Please IMPEACH George W. Bush! -Thank you

Anyone questioning the urgency and sincerity and frustration of American citizens, just asking their "representatives" to do their jobs (meaning, be the voice of their constituents), needs to review the impassioned comments contained on this petition!

Carole Sarcinello (338)

Will we, once again, give future leaders a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card by sloughing off these offenses?

Not me.

Carole Sarcinello (338)
Friday July 18, 2008, 5:30 pm

ONE brave Congressman (Dennis Kucinich) stood up to these bullies and presented 35 warrantable charges of impeachment to his fellow repreesentatives, 7 others co-sponsored him.

Everything he said, and the tons of supporting evidence, was RIGHT. Why is this not even being investigated? And why aren't you furious that it's not?

I add this paragraph to everything I send to Congress:

"In addition to Dennis Kucinich, I am proud of these 7 representatives:

Rep Baldwin, Tammy [WI-2] - 6/18/2008
Rep Farr, Sam [CA-17] - 6/24/2008
Rep Hinchey, Maurice D. [NY-22] - 6/18/2008
Rep Lee, Barbara [CA-9] - 6/11/2008
Rep Towns, Edolphus [NY-10] - 7/8/2008
Rep Wexler, Robert [FL-19] - 6/11/2008
Rep Woolsey, Lynn C. [CA-6] - 6/11/2008

and am extremely disappointed not to see your name among them. Since when is it acceptable for volumes of evidence, supporting 35 acts of criminality to be IGNORED and the suspect permitted to continue in a seat of power and continue with even more acts? Since when did Americans agree that criminal suspects should not be charged with their crimes and tried for them because "the timing is wrong?"

You are supposed to be a representative of the interests of your constituents. I would appreciate your behaving as such!"

If Bush is not impeached then his crimes stand and precedent is created. If precedent is created then any subsequent President can decide what the Constitution ought to be to fit with his personal plans and more than that can behave as 'the decider' - which is to say and unaccountable, tyrannical autocrat much like Robert Mugabe or the Emperor Nero. You are not going after Bush, my fellow posters. You are going after the last shreds of your ideal of a nation, what you once called 'The Land of the Free'. Those shreds are disappearing fast. So Esther - I suggest you start running.

Steve H (45)
Friday July 18, 2008, 10:25 pm
Esther S., you think it is too late?

He can still invade Iran, why don't you go ask an Iranian if it is too late?

Or ask a US service member if they want to be ordered to fight another illegal war.

As for the money...please don't use that tired excuse, for one it would only take a day with the evidence we have of him admitting to illegal acts on videotape (both bush and cheney that is), and even if we didn't, look at how much money we waste all over the place.

Serving justice (and protecting ourselves and others from further risk) is not something you ever want to start putting a price on----or if you do, they will start letting all kinds of murderers and rapists and molesters and everyone else walk around my streets and your streets because it's just too expensive to investigate, charge, take to trial and house them.

Over 1.2 million dead Iraqis, over 4,100 dead US soldiers (we'll not bother mentioning the number with lifetime physical, mental and emotional problems), 5 million Iraqis displaced, a trashed Constitution and Bill of Rights and untold other crimes against us and humanity and you don't think it's worth the money?

You want to see money wasted? Go to:

Put in your city and what it has cost you.

Just the amount for your city is more than it would cost to impeach bush and cheney and rice and others.

I could go on, but it should be so obvious why we should that it's absurd to have to explain it.

Terrie Williams is right, there is no time limit on the crimes of Bush and others, watch the video on youtube with Vincent Bugliosi about his book "The Prosecution of George W Bush for Murder, then go buy the book, then read it, then take it to your local district attorney and state attorney general.

More about that here: And here is how you can follow through with that: You can get the book here (and elsewhere): Then get out and talk to: Full Contact List for the Attorneys General And Google "___ District Attorney" (fill in the blank with your county)

BUT, Terrie he IS coward and he IS a traitor.....too much can be destroyed in the time he has left, it would only be acceptable to play the waiting game on something not dangerous and deadly which bush is. This is not a game of Monopoly, it's the lives of millions of people.

It is his legal responsibility to set impeachment into motion, he is required by oath to defend the Constitution, and there is no way around that.

Thanks for the comments and noting and statements from some that you are doing everything you ca, we need to really step this up BIG TIME, so please spend even a few more minutes doing what you can, then keep trying to wake up yeveryone you know, if we had a couplke million phone calls and faxes and emails DAILY to these workers of ours and thousands of people visiting their offices DAILY then we would get somewhere.

So.....let's make that happen!

Peace my friends.

Not Silent, my point was not about the money that would have to be spent. My point was that the money spent would be wasted because he would already be out of office by the time the impeachment could take place. Impeachment of a President is not the same as charging the President with a crime and then giving him a trial and punishing him if he is found guilty. Impeachment is the first step in removing a President from office and he would already be out of office.

Margaret P (76)

Steve H (45)
Saturday July 19, 2008, 9:37 am

Esther, several legal and Constitutional experts have stated impeachment could happen in one day. The whole process could be a very short one, since we have plenty op evidence, but the impeachment part could be one day.

Once impeachment is happening, our military would be much less apt to attack Iran if ordered by bush or cheney. Same thing would go for people following the order if bush or cheney declared martial law.

The idea behind his impeachment now is I believe to stop him from starting the war in Iran. He is bound and determined to do this, and I think the canditates we have running are also behind this. What a hot mess our country is in!!!!

Terrie Williams (798)
Saturday July 19, 2008, 12:59 pm
Just for the record here, I am all FOR impeachment and it should have been done 5 YEARS AGO. I have signed everything I can sign for impeachment and I have called and talked to reps/senators til I am blue in the face. My senators are BushBots and always have been, same for my rep. (Cornyn, Hutchinson and Brady--need I say more?)

All of these people -- or MOST of them anyway ARE millionaires. They do not give a tinker's damn what we want or what we think. And they WILL protect their own. That is what, in my opinion, they are doing now. Tying to save their own skins because in the end maybe years from now it will all come out in the wash and we the people will finally know just how depreved and corrupt our 'repesentatives' truly are. And if it doesn't do we really need to see it in writing to KNOW that they are? I don't. I can see it in their actions and their words and their unending posturing for the spotlight. Like I said before, there are a precious few who are not corrupt. They are not enough to stop this juggernaut.

To be a fly on the wall in the private chambers of the Justice Committee would be priceless right about now.

Bill McGlone (103)
Saturday July 19, 2008, 1:32 pm
Well I've been reading these comments over and over since my last comment here. Now I feel the need to comment again. When there is a call to "Take back the country" history tells me that "We" never had "control" of this country, ever! "They" assumed "control" and is still maintained by "Them" since before the first revolution. "We the Sheeple" serve no purpose to "Them" except for taxes, overpriced goods and services, and militarily as "Their" tool to advance American Imperialism. "We the Sheeple" have been used by "Them" to take the land and resources of the Native Americans who have always been here. Not satisfied with that, "They" then used fear mongering to have "We the Sheeple" slaughter the true possessers of this country. What "They" didn't kill we placed in concentration (reservation) camps. "They" enslaved Africans and built a booming economy out of that acceptable Government policy. When finally "We the Sheeple" rejected human slavery "They" had us fight the Cival War over two opposing points of view.
"They", throughout our history have us always at war over something. "They", always throughout this war history,
use the same line.."If we don't fight them in their own country we will be fighting them here"!
"We the Sheeple" fight these wars and when we are victorious "They" pillage the losers land stripping the loser of their resources "They" deem valuable for profit and maintaining power. To object to strongly places "We the Sheeple" in jeopardy of being charged and executed for treason. Treason, and martial law, are the final actions a government excercises to maintain control of "Their" power. It appears throught the history of the human species their are but two types of humans: "Those" that rule and the ruled, as opossed to those that govern and the governed.
The final point I would like to address is this: When all else fails to correct the exploitation of the oppressed by the oppressor, what do "We the Sheeple" do?

Steve H (45)
Saturday July 19, 2008, 1:50 pm

You're right Bill, we never really had the power, I have to agree there, but it's worse than it was and it's getting worse and it must change.

Bill McGlone (103)
Saturday July 19, 2008, 3:15 pm
I don't know that it's getting worse but rather we're getting better at finding out and sharing about it thru faster communications: Internet,tv,telephone, radio, etc. That's why the "FISA Bill" has me troubled. "They" are spying on us to silence us...

Carole Sarcinello (338)

With all due respect, we can only deal with what we know.

What we DO know is that the American people, who fervently desire impeachment of Bush and Cheney, are writing their representatives, urging them to support Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment and implore the Judiciary Committee to conduct an investigation and act upon them!

In the meantime, we now learn that the Chairman of that Committee (which committee is supposed to ensure checks and balances between the three branches) considers it all to be laughable.

Where is your OUTRAGE?

Bill McGlone (103)
Saturday July 19, 2008, 3:39 pm
MY outrage has been on display many times on this site. However I seem to be outnumbered by those that call for no action except a futile petition, fax,or phone call. Then there are those that call for prayer or other non-violent actions to erase "Those" that have always held the reins of economic, military, and political power.Based on history and reality let me know when the oppressor relinquish's "Their" control via benign pacifist oppostion.

Margaret P (76)

Does ANYbody realize that there is less than a year left in Bush's and Cheney's current terms, and that by the time the commties, and the commities to form more commities to impeach, and then the trial and final judgements were all pushed through, that the current leadership would have long since ended anyway?

Steve H (45)
Saturday July 19, 2008, 9:27 pm

They aren't supposed to be doing "commties, and the commities to form more commities to impeach, they are supposed to look at the allegations which Kucinich has filed, and if they see a solid case, then they are supposed to hold impeachment hearings, the impeachment part could take one day if done properly, then the trial could take the same and out with him, then send him to trial for war crimes.

They are stalling which gives him time to do more damage to us and to attack Iran.

And Bill, you can do whatever you like as everyone can. Calls and faxes and letters and emails and visits are one way of pushing, but I don't see anybody saying ONLY to do those things. Do whatever you want, but the petitions and all the other stuff is NOT futile and I'm getting sick of pointing out what should be obvious to people that say what you have about these actions.

A very short list of reasons why it IS helpful:

1) It send a message to a whole world that hates us that we are not all silent and that we are at least doing something and we do not agree with the dictator in chief.

2) The petitions open the door for people to talk to others about the issue and so people talk and educate others about it.

3) The visibility of petitions and posts like this raise the chances military, law enforcement and future military and law enforcement see some facts and might wake up and the benefit of that is rather obvious.

We need people doing what they can and making suggestions of what to do if they have an idea that they feel is worth sharing, but coming on here saying "this doesn't do anything" is a waste of time for everyone and is obviously not helping either, so let's quit the negative stuff and everyone just do what you can.

ALL movements of oppostion and political change have had two prominate operating branches among the many limbs of freedom. They are, lest you forget, the political and the miltary! To foster one without the other leads to assured demolition of the movement for change.Never, ever underestimate the dedication and brutality of "Those" in power to remain in power.
"Do not go gently into that good night!"

Who ever has a representative on the committee, urge them on a vote of no confidence for the chairman. Remove his complicit ass out of the way!

Let us not forget that there is another option, war crimes. The ordering of bombing on the hospitals in Fulluja continues to haunt my conscience.

The turning back of woman and child who came out of the city to escape, the bombing is still vivid in my mind, as one of the most unamerican acts to condoned during my life. I share a birthday with our beloved president, trust me, I will never forget.

Anthony you are absolutely right! "If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.." In this case THE GLOVE FITS!! BUT: A two party dictatorship that shares and alternates POWER would never submit to such a charge and prosecution lest the same be visited upon "Them" when "They" occupy the "Throne".

It makes me sick that SO many in Congress REFUSE to DO Their Job! Allowing this Administration to RUIN America is Sick & Disgusting - Aiding & Abetting Terrorists like Bu$h & Cheney is Treason Too!
