Doesn't look like there's anything that can stop these mergers happening.

Perfect symbiosis ... :-( ... and we people would probably be viewed as the unknowing/unasked "symbiont" in this set-up! It could also be looked at as metabiose ...

Thanks Evelyn - I love the pic you chose!!

Well, the article states there is some hope the deal won't go through due to antitrust hurdles as well as a backlash from German citizens due to their deep distrust of GMO foods. Keeping fingers crossed. I don't know what Americans can do to stop this---antitrust laws should prevent this.

In Britain, we have a Monopolies and Mergers commission, or used to have, and any major merger would be referred to them, if it was deemed that a merger was not benefiting the consumer and/or stifling competition.

However, Corporate Capitalist power and money tends to sway things hugely, when lobbying and "calling in favors" is in operation.

This is certainly one of the most devastating deals ever to be made. Will the influence of protests block this or not? Do these big corporations have the right to ride rough-shod over all regulations and work against our wellbeing?

Heather - we're heading for 100% corpocracy instead of democracy, & the Trade Treaties increase the "greater rights" of corporations ... TPP & TTIP will intensify this if they go through :>(

So we have to fight wherever & whenever we can. Can we win? I don't know, but at least, I hope we can weaken their power ... & keep on doing so

Note: This WILL NOT CHANGE under a Clinton OR Trump Presidency.

You want real change, you need to vote for Dr. Jill Stein.
