"They have requested a court injunction to prohibit further implementation of the wolf extermination program until their case can be resolved."

I hope they get that injunction! It hasn't been easy to do here in Minnesota, nor in Wisconsin where this year they let "hunters", who are really just killers with an insatiable blood lust, use dogs to get their "trophy". I can't imagine what they can do with a dead wolf, they aren't going to eat it, or stuff it, or use its coat for a rug, they just want to kill it. These beautiful creatures who are such an important part of the ecosystem. It won't be easy to get that stopped, but I am so glad they are trying.

Right On! I'm howling with excitement. Earthjustice is representing long-time Idaho conservationist and wilderness advocate Ralph Maughan along with three conservation groups—Defenders of Wildlife, Western Watersheds Project, and Wilderness Watch—in a lawsuit challenging the wolf extermination program.
I pray the right thing is done to protect our brother wolf

Number of wolves allowed in MN hunt was cut almost in half, which was a good thing. MN Rep Mary Sawatzky has been trying to get the hunt completely stopped. Hope it works. Strange, the wolf isn't killed for are the hunts helping the hunters, except to give them something to shoot, maim, and/or kill.

Thank you Kathleen. We will continue to fight tooth and nail to protect wolves everywhere from senseless persecution. Healthy predators make for healthy ecosystems. Kudos to Earthjustice P.S. The only predators I would sanction the culling of would be the ones wearing orange vests.

Wonderful, Kathleen, thank you, and to Carrie for notifying me, although Kathleen sent it directly.
These marvelous animals are a keystone species, and their presence would help to keep a healthy balance in the wilderness, if ONLY we could keep our damned noses out of it. Thios was found in Yellowstone, by the Federal Park Service.

Thank you for posting Kathleen. I am eternally hopeful else i wouldn't be here ~ my motto: it's not over till it's over. It's the long run when it comes to wolves, and other wildlife. There are currently a number of petitions, on, the rescue site, care 2 along with petition letters from organizations like defenders and the endangered species coalition. i am certain they are floating around in here and in fb. All helpful, but the bottom line is these organizations that go to litigation ! They deserve our financial support .

Obama and his group of fear-and greed-mongers is behind all of this.

From the article:

In mid-December 2013, IDFG hired a hunter-trapper to pack into central Idaho’s 2.4-million-acre Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness to eradicate two wolf packs, the Golden and Monumental packs, in the interest of inflating elk populations for outfitters and recreational hunters. The U.S. Forest Service, which administers the wilderness, approved the extermination program by authorizing use of a Forest Service cabin and airstrip to support wolf extermination activities.

I wish with all my heart that they get this injunction! It is hard to believe that the USWS and the US Forest Preserve seem to become such allies of the trophy hunters and ranchers full of misconceptions and anti-wolf sentiments! Our govt. is doing nothing to stop the fear mongering and myths about wolves. In fact, it seems like they are aiding and abetting it. It is long overdue that the Obama administration gives the US Dept. of Wildlife Services a major overhaul and stop this corrupt alliance that it has with certain special interest groups- it certainly isn't representing the wishes of the American people as it should- it is way off compass! Time to shake up that Dept. and put some real scientists and conservationists in there that really know what is going on and will stop pandering to these hyjackers of our wilderness and its great wildlife. Signed the petition and also shared on FB! Thanks Kathleen.

What will be accomplished by exterminating our wolves? The HUNTERS out there simply wanting to make their competition easier...with their high powered rifles and elimination of our wildlife??? Is bringing home a TROPHY..... stuffed dears head, a bear and a set of antlers to mount on the wall......really more important than the balance of nature ? Don't think so!!!!!!!
