PETITION - UK - Rethink Oxfordshire's Economic Growth Plan

Environment  (tags: petition to sign, destruction, conservation )

Do you want 100,000 new houses and a motorway in our Oxfordshire landscape? Your District Councils think you do. Our local authorities want to build 100,000 new homes by 2031 - there are currently 268,000. This represents a massive 40% increase.

The impacts will be even greater if the government plan to transform the Oxford to Cambridge corridor goes ahead as it has the aspiration for a million new homes.

Signed earlier and now noted. My sincere thanks Pablo for posting, and for all signatures. I live not many miles from this proposal as well as the horrendous HS2. Sites of scientific interest and ancient woodlands are being bulldozed right , left and centre. It is one appalling nightmare. Homes are needed, but not at the cost of destroying plant, animal and tree life. There are plenty of brown sites to build on, and old abandoned buildings that can be transformed and redeveloped. Greed rules all once again.
kidn regards, JOan
