Will Montana be the only state in the nation to have a horse slaughter plant? The answer now depends on Gov. Brian Schweitzer, who will determine the outcome of this contentious issue during the next few days. Will he sign House Bill 418 and allow it?

I am hopeful that the measures currently before Congress will overide any measures, a state would propose.

HORSE SLAUGHTER SHOULD BE BANNED EVERYWHERE. THESE ANIMALS ARE TOO BEAUTIFUL TO BE PUT TO DEATH AS IF THEIR LIFE HAD NO MEANING WHAT SO EVER.

Horses typify nobility and grace; they are a fixture in America history, as well as in world history. They should be treated with respect and appreciation, not as a commodity.

Horses that are born in the wild deserve to continue running free as they do no harm to anyone what so ever. Other horses have been faithful pets or companions or were trained to perform work or a task. These horses have given to people not asking for much in return. They deserve to be rewarded for their loyalty instead of being comdemned to a cruel slaughter house. Horse slaughter houses conduct their business in a harsh, very inhumane manner which is totally undeserved of these beautiful animals. For more information on this subject, please check out the CARE 2 group Free Our Wild Mustangs and Burros.
